Wow, what a gorgeous day to play golf. To be real picky, it was a little windy, but who's kidding who. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and we were playing crappy golf! What else is new! Unfortunately for a number of us now, this scoring draught is going into its third week. The course is in great shape. The greens are fast (Dogwood) and faster (Azalea). Hopefully, everyone is getting ready for the BIG TOURNAMENT, October 4th (Thursday). Be there or be square!

This particular item is getting smaller and smaller. Tommy shot a real nice 82 (44-38) and finished at +6. Brent was close at "0" as was Larry. The rest of us ranged from -1 to "minus a bunch!" Since we don't have much to review in this area, let us gaze upon the masterful swing that is responsible for this early fall surge. The winning team (Tommy, Larry, Hergy) shown above, is the same juggernaut that crushed all competition earlier in the Tour season (Edisto/Stono Ferry Invitational). Today, they continued their winning ways with a convincing +4 point victory (-2 1/2 Dogwood and +6 1/2 Azalea). The opposing team of Louie, Don, Brent and Dan never were able to mount a substantial charge. Of course, if they had, we would have humiliated, denigrated, abused and laughed at their broken, demoralized and impotent bodies (ah, what true sportsman we are!) as we ran to the bank with our huge stash of coin!

It has been reported by Mr. (actually Dr.) POY that the solid gold trophy, and the $1,500 in cash in his possession as a result of winning last year's competition has been stolen, at gun point, from his home by 3 guys and no one other than O.J. Simpson. The good Dr. apparently remembered this shortly after seeing a similar MO of the "other" theft on ESPN.

After checking with the Aiken Sheriff's department and my sources at the Witness Protection Program in Las Vegas, I have found out that no report was called into to Aiken 911 and O.J. was in Las Vegas, under arrest, at the time that Larry (oops, Dr. POY) claims to have reported the theft. When confronted with this fact, he immediately changed his story and claims to have misidentified the "perp" and he really meant to identify Michael Vick!

I sent an e-mail to Mike in Atlanta to get to the bottom of this rumor and.........Wait, this just in from Atlanta.............Michael Vick has indicated via e-mail that he auctioned off on EBAY, a POY trophy of some kind, and claims the money, approximately $1,500 was legally his.
He further claims he won that money "fair and square" from some "old" southern guy bettin' on his dawgs! Michael said he couldn't identify the "old man" because he (the old guy) had a sandbag over his head, but the guy drove a car that had a large number of golf clubs (maybe thirty or more, mostly hybrids) in the trunk! He claims to have a video of the transaction from Bill Belichek to prove it.

This turn of events has made me very suspicious. Rest assured faithful readers, The HHH & S will spare no expense to ferret out the truth and untangle this evil web of intrigue.
