A good day today. A little chilly at the start, but after a while the wind died down and it was almost enjoyable. We had 9 golfers this AM, including Mrs. Moody's favorite son, Robert, who was on hand to make his contribution to the fund.

Individual Honors

Paintboy (Don), shown here in a pre-retirement picture, was the big hitter today shooting a +6 to steal all the marbles (and money) away from the "Naked Gun". Ron shot a +5 (44-41=85) to barely lose, Hergy was a close third at +4.

Lots of pretty decent nines and a number of real ugly ones as well. Ron and Bob Moody shot 41's and Don and Hergy managed a couple of 42's. Paintboy and Naked Gun tied for the medalist honors with overall 85's and Hergy and Moody were close behind with 86's.

Don's handicap should be ready for a major adjustment (downward) as this is the second time within the week that he has dazzled us with his golf accumen. Of course he practices in between our golf dates and as we know creates an imperfect playing field.

On second thought, he could be trying to unseat the current POY and is making his final rush to try and steal the trophy and the prize money from Dr. Wofford (Larry the Legend).

Team Competition

The fine tuned golfing dynamo of Ron, Duke and Hergy beat the stuffing out of the two other pretenders. Posting a +6 on the front and an additional +6 on the back for an overall score of +12 for the 18, the premier golfing trio never looked back. In posting their +17 stroke victory over Tommy, Don and Bob (Team -5) and a +21 point victory over Jack, TV Louie and Dr. POY (Team -9). They clearly demonstrated what talented, handsome, skilled, humble, motivated individuals can do when playing against the dregs of the golfing world! (editorial opinion).

Next time, guys, if you just want to leave your money at the front desk, you can go to the practice tees while we finish our rounds!

NEWS
*********
Looks like Clemson and Carolina both had victories this weekend. Clemson won the game and Carolina won because Clemson extended Bowden's contract for another three (?) years. As a result, the "Ball Coach" won't have to worry about any type of competent coaching competition in the state. He'll just have to control the "luck" factor and Carolina will roll.

In other football news.....the Puppies of Wofford defeated Montana 23-22, in Montana to stay alive in the Division II Playoffs. Bow Wow, little Terriers, Bow Wow!!

Pay Moody your Christmas money!
