I have important news for some of you: It is not THAT cold. Chilly, yes. But cold.........here are some things you might consider: a) wear a long-sleeved shirt, b) wear a sweater, c) wear a wind shirt, d) wear some combination of the above.

7 1/2 golfers answered the call this AM. Dan joined us a little late and didn't participate in the gifting of his money.

Individual Honors

Larry the Legend (shown here in a 1932 photo) was the points winner today. The Legend shot a nice +6 (41-46=87) this morning to win the big bucks (again). Paintboy (Don) was second at +4 and The Duke (+3) and Hergy (+2) were left in the dust.

POY Boy had his "skill" working overtime today. On #2 Dogwood (or #11 on the back nine) Larry drives his ball into the trees on the left. His second shot ricochets off of two trees, rolls across the green and stops 35 feet (+/-) from the hole. Of course, as Paul Harvey says, ". . . and now for the rest of the story" (if you haven't already guessed). The Legend steps up and rolls the putt , uphill, with a side hill break, straight into the hole for a "birdie". You had to see it to believe it! No wonder he is the two-time defending POY! What skill, what panache, what garbage! Good news....he was on my team! Great shot, Larry!

Other notable rounds today: Don and Tommy shot 42's, Duke and Brent had 43's. The high score of the day was a 92, everyone else was in the 80's. Don was the medalist with a low round of 86.

Team Competition
Not a real close competition today, the team of Larry, Don, Hergy and Ron shot a great front nine of +9 1/2 to go along with a + 2 1/2 on the back for an 18 hole total of +12. Unfortunately for the team of Tommy, Duke and Brent (and Dan...but he didn't score), they never broke into the "+" column, although The Duke managed a decent +3 on the individual side.
