FUTURE TEE TIMES
*************************
Saturday, December 8 10:32 - 10:40 am Dogwood - ?
*****************************************************************
Okay, boys and girls, so it was a little chilly this morning. But lest you forget, I spoke to my brother in Omaha, (who was not at the Westroads Mall and did not get shot at) and he reminded me that it was 10 degrees above "0" with several inches of snow on the ground. Compared to that, I'd say our golfing conditions were darn near ideal!

But I guess it's a matter of perspective because Mrs Duke played today even though it appeared to be too chilly for her thin-skinned hubby. The weather is supposed to improve by Saturday, so we'll see all of you chilly-boys then.

Individual Honors

We were honored to have a guest slasher with us today. Gary Percival joined the fun bunch today and promptly ended up winning the point contest, even though we tried to penalize him by adjusting his handicap.

Gary managed a +3 for the 18, shooting a 43-46=89. Fortunately, he birdie'd the last hole to gain a one point win over "Paintboy", who finished with a +2. Don did manage to win the medalist honors, however, (which means absolutely nothing) with a decent round of 88.

Not a lot of good nines today as the quality of the play slipped a little. Brent had a 42, as did Don. Gary shot a 43 on the front, but everyone else was above that this AM. In fact, only Gary and Don pulled their points. Ernie and Ron managed to limp in with "0's". Everyone else was negative (-1,-1,-2,-3) for the round.

Team Competition

The team competition left a little to be desired. It was a lot like kissing your sister. Everything ended in a tie. The team of Don, Ernie, Jack and POY won the front with a + 1/2, while their competitors (Brent, Hergy, Gary and the Naked Gun) could only manage a -3 1/2. However, on the back nine , they came alive to score a +2 1/2, while Don, Ernie, Jack and POY slipped to a -1 1/2.

The combined nines in both cases yielded a +1 net resulting in a tie. "No harm-No foul", as they say!

A number of us (4) have signed up to play in the Houndslake Seniors Tournament being held Wednesday, December 12th. Its only $10 bucks and you can play from either White of Gold tees. Sign up if you're so inclined. Maybe we'll set up our own pool. Heaven knows we won't win the other!
