Wow! What a beautiful day to play golf. We had 11 golfers out this morning (10 regulars and a guest). The weather was actually warm. The overall quality of the golf this morning was probably the best I have ever seen. A lot of people played great golf.

Individual Honors

Hergy (shown here in a pre-Aiken photo shoot) was the big hitter today, blowing away the competition with a +9 (38-43=81). Oh-Oh, there goes the handicap! Hergy had a great round, but there were plenty of other exceptional rounds as well: Ron had a very commendable +6, Larry and Ernie were both +5 and Tommy finished at +4. On a normal day, each of those scores would have usually won. Other notable nines: Hergy had a 38, including an Eagle on the Dogwood #4 (or #13), Tommy shot a 39, while Larry had a great 40, Ron posted a 41, Brent shot a 42 and Ernie, Ron, Hergy, Tommy had 43's as well.

Hergy (Steroid-boy) managed to win the medalist honors as well with an 81, followed closely by Tommy with an 82 and Naked Gun at 84.

Team Competition

What competition? A new record for points (+20) was set by the team of Hergy (+9), Ron (+6), Ernie (+5) and Dan (0). Second place with a +6 went to the threesome of Tommy, Dr. Larry and Jack. Struggling in third with a +1 was the foursome of Brent, Duke, Don and Jon (Brent's guest). A lot of scores posted today would have been winners on any other day. But the stars aligned correctly for some and the bar was raised! Keep swinging, guys.
