Here it is December 11th and its 83 degrees. Is this crazy or what? Good turnout today. We had 10 participants; it was warm enough that we even got Marshall out of hibernation. It's supposed to be like this until Friday (rain predicted). Let's get everyone out for the Thursday outing...the last one before the POY Committee finalizes its selection for the 2007 award.
Individual Honors
***
We want to welcome Duke back to the winner's circle after a short break. The little guy from Clemson managed a +6 point total today shooting a 41-44=85. He also tied for the medalist honors with Tommy. It seems like all the scores were a little on the high side. That thud you heard was Hergy falling back to Earth after his 81 on Saturday (shot a 90 today). We used to acknowledge the "Notable" 9's, but due to the lack of participation, we are going to highlight the "okay" rounds instead......therefore: Don and Duke shot 41's , Tommy had a 42 and Larry, Brent and Tommy shot 43's to close out these particular highlights.

Team Competition
***
The threesome of Tommy, Duke and Brent won the team competition with a mediocre front of +1 1/2 and a decent back nine of +3 1/2 to post a +5 for the round. Several of the Gamecock boosters were suggesting an audit of the Three Stooges' scorecard since there is a lot of verifiable proof that Clemson graduates have a little trouble (trouble like 2+2) with the math required to correctly complete the scorecard.
*
Sportsmanship, however, ruled the day as it was determined that even if they couldn't (can't) add their scorecards correctly, they probably need the money. In fact, it was suggested that they take their winnings and buy something/anything that wasn't orange or purple to wear on golf days.
*
I think the other threesome of Ron, Jack and Don shot better than the foursome of Larry, Dan, Marshall and Hergy for second place. I don't know that for a fact since I forgot to get the scores before turning them in. (Gross incompetence by Duh Editor)
*
In their defense, however, the foursome of Dan, Marshall, Herg and Larry decided that they preferred to "commune" with nature and enjoy the wonderful weather rather than concentrate on a silly golf match, so we didn't try to win.
*
Yeah that's right, we quit and didn't try. We threw the competition, we let everyone else win. We took the high road, paid our money and let you turkeys believe that you won! Ha...we could have smoked you at any point, but we didn't. Yeah, that's it, we didn't try.

News
***
Next Tuesday is the CHRISTMAS BANQUET. We will have a normal tee time and play the last competitive round of the 2007 season.
*
I have prepared a BOWL POOL for your gambling amusement. I will hand it out on Thursday or will e-mail it to you if you don't golf on Thursday. They will be due at the Christmas Banquet! ($5.00 or $10.00 entry fee, don't know which...whatever you guys think). If I win, it will be $10.00, if I lose, it will be $5.00.
***
Note: Neither South Carolina nor Nebraska are involved in a bowl game....they lose and they suck! Clemson, however, is involved in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl, because they won, but they suck too. If fact, everybody's team sucks, this blog sucks, my golf game sucks!
***
I'll see you guys on Thursday and we'll do it all again, after all it's a new day. Maybe, just maybe, we'll play well. Hope springs eternal.
