The rain and cold finally subsided long enough for us to get back to business. 5 golfers hit the links this AM. Surprisingly, it was a very nice day to play golf. Most everyone shed their wind jackets at the turn and we finished before the rain hit town. Just like it is supposed to be. All in all, a good South Carolina winter golf day!

POINTS
**********
With a somewhat reduced playing group today, we decided to vary the competitive game from a points format to $.25 skins. Returning to the winners circle and for the first time in 2008, the three-time POY took advantage of a stroke on Azalea #5 and walked away with 7 (seven) skins on one hole. Way to go, Larry!
*
That, along with one other skin, gave him 8 for the day and bragging rights as the BIG winner. Naked Gun and Huskerboy each had three, and Paintboy and IRSboy came close, but could never seem to close the deal to win a hole. The last four holes went unclaimed.
*
Medalist honors went to Ron with an 85, Hergy and Don shot 90's, and Larry and Jack finished in the mid 90's to complete the scoring for the day. All things considered today, a very competitive match. Not unexpectedly, after almost a week off from the competitive fires, putting was the problem for most everyone.
*
The courses were in pretty good shape considering the rain and cold of last week, the greens were a little uneven (wet-dry, fast-slow, break-no break) and inconsistent. Considering the fact that the golfers were also uneven and a little inconsistent made for some frustrating times.
*
Check the weather for Thursday, should be a little warmer!
*
See you then!
