The 2008 golf season got off to a rousing start this morning with 12 golfers showing up. Apparently, a number of them were ousted from their winter hibernation, at least they played like that. Rain threatened but was a decided no-show.

It was decided that a few changes were in store for the 2008 blog, many of them cosmetic and possibly a little more winner-friendly. At least until somebody starts winning too much (that is defined as more than Duh Editor)!

POINTS

For one thing, you must be considered one of the "beautiful people" in order to have your picture in the 2008 blog. After due consideration, I decided that Sherri qualified and Ron, who was the point winner today at +6, needs a little more work.

Today we will also recognize those individuals who "pulled" their points. So congrats goes out to: Ron (+6), Ernie (+2), Marshall (+1), Hergy (+2), Moody (0), Larry (0) and Brent( +2).

Tommy and Hergy had 39's on the Dogwood, Brent and Ron had 41's, Ron and Moody had 42's to close out the nine-hole scoring summary.

TEAM

The team competition finished in a split decision today. The team of Duke, Marshall, Hergy and Tommy surged to a front nine total of +10.5, crumbled on the back, but still managed to eek out an 18-hole victory. The team of Ernie, Jack, Don and Ron, playing steady but uninspired golf, won the back to prevent a scoring sweep. The last group of Moody, Brent, Dan and Larry played well enough, but never made it to the positive numbers for the day. Good news, though, no one got hurt and they made it home safely!
