It appears that as the weather improves so does the attendance. We had 11 contributors (oops! I mean golfers) today. The weather wasn't real great, but better than the last several outings. A little windy and therefore a little chilly. All in all though, a very nice day to be out! We had a day of decent golf, not great but decent. We averaged out an 89.4 - Bogey golf (Grade: C).

A 2008 welcome to Dan. Fearing the worst, Dan opted not to join in the money pool and of course, Murphy (he of the "in"famous Murphy's Law fame) could have been Dan's caddy. Dan shot a blistering +11 beating the best of the regulars by 7 shots. Way to go Dan! Sure way to change your luck, put money in the pool and watch what happens to your score.

Whoops, after all of that, I checked my "sources" and found that Dan has indeed played once in 2008. We're glad to see you anyway Dan. However, if you continue to shoot +11's .....you will be less welcome each time you show up.

Since it was decided by the Editorial Board to raise the quality of the 2008 blog from a tabloid format to a more respectable information source, I opted NOT to put a picture of the Three Stooges to represent our three winners of today's points contest. Jack, Ron and Duke all shot +4's to tie for the Points honors today. Hergy was a +3 and was a putt away from sharing the "goodies". Ron was the medalist today, shooting an 84, Hergy shot an 85, Brent & Duke had 87's, and Tommy broke the 90 mark with an 88.

41 was the best nine turned in today. Brent was the proud owner of that score. Ron managed twin 42's and Hergy had one (42) as well. Hergy and Duke had 43's. To finish off these highlights, Moody, Duke, Ernie, Brent and Tommy (2) all had 44's. That's bogey or below golf. Not bad for a bunch of old golfers.

Not much of a competition this morning. The foursome of Ron, Larry, Jack and Hergy swept the honors with a +5 Dogwood , +3 Azalea for a +8 eighteen hole total. The threesome of Don, ERA and Orangeboy finished with a eighteen hole score of +3, followed by the threesome of Duke, Moody and Tommy (Dan didn't count) finishing at even (-1/2 actually) for the day. Too bad Dan's +11 didn't count!

Since the big Florida primary election was today, we decided to follow along with the major networks and conduct a poll of our own. In a "exit" poll following today's round, 7 golfers were glad Dan's +11 didn't count and 4 were upset that it didn't count. Interesting results! I wonder how those votes were split?

Coincidence on NOT? POYboy goes to some meeting and gets a Fred Thompson bumper sticker. The three time Golfer of the Year puts it on his bumper and two days later, upon hearing this, Fred Thompson drops out of the Presidential race. Hey POYboy, lets try and get you a Hillary sticker ASAP!
