We had a full group today, including Marcus (Sailor-boy) as our guest, we fielded a group of 8 golfers this morning. Unfortunately, the courses were very busy and we ended up behind a corporate outing.......can you spell S-L-O-W! Being ever so quick to adjust, it was decided to skip Dogwood and jump to Laurel in order to miss the blockade.
*
Have I ever told you how much I hate Laurel, especially when I'm not playing well?........ Anyway, at least in our group, the course won! (As usual!)

*****POINTS*****
~~~~~
In what is becoming a ridiculous repeat situation, we were subject to another object lesson by our resident pastor! The object lesson being "Don't miss with George when he is hitting his new driver".
*
George, shooting a +7 today, ruined POY-boy's day (+6) by literally taking the money out of his mouth. POY-boy thought he was going to win today and he had already planned to use the money to buy groceries, medical supplies so that he may continue to live his meager life!
*
In addition, he had planned to donate to the poor and starving in Africa and Spartanburg. Pastor George didn't care because he was on a mission of his own, to surpass Jack's total earnings for 2008! Wow!, what a cut-throat group this has become!
*
George, you are hereby put on notice, you are becoming a little tiresome with your second win in just a couple weeks. We liked you a lot better when you just threw your money in the pot, played crappy golf and went home. Try it our way, you'll like it better!
*
In keeping with HHH &S Editorial guidelines, we cannot, nay will not, post a nice picture of any turkey who continues to exhibit an uncooperative attitude by winning a lot of money in a short period of time. This picture seems to express what we all feel!
*
*****SCORES*****
~~~~~
I forgot to mention above that in addition to winning the Points competition, George also was the medalist, shooting an 84. Next closest was Sailor-boy at 85 and then Larry at 87.
~~~~~
-40- Marcus
-41-
-42- George (2), Don, Ron
-43- Larry
-44- Hergy, Larry
-45- Marcus, Duke
*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
~~~~~
We had a split decision this morning in the team competition. The grouping of Larry, Don, Ron and Duke won two-thirds of money. They won the back (Laurel) with a +5 1/2, lost the front and won the 18 with a combined score of +6.
*
Funding their endeavor was the team of George, Marcus, Hergy and Jack. After winning the front (Azalea) with a +5 1/2, they never recovered from being sent to golf purgatory (Laurel) without seeking psychiatric help - since Larry and Ron were both in the other group - to adjust to the severe mental challenge presented by that course. We struggled to a -1/2 and finished the 18 at +5, one behind.
*
*****ITEMS*****
~~~~~
We are visiting family (Marti is, I'm just doing the driving) including our 3 year old twin grand-daughters in Brooklyn Park, MN. and my son in Madison, WI. Therefore to keep my sanity, I will be on-line looking for any diversion I can find, since I don't usually don't relate well with that age group for prolonged periods of time - (I have a about a 10 minute attention span - same as the kids - the little ones as well as mine sons :-)
*
Anyway, I'll being working on the blog, e-mail and the football pool in my down time, so though I'll be gone, you won't be far away...I hope! (You probably wish I would!)
