We are transitioning our starting times to our later fall starting times. I will be able to make our tee times again in October and be able to control a little better where we fall in the tee-time positions. We have been under the "control" of the Pro Shop during September due to some computer programming issues. We have a little more flexibility when we are on our own.
*
Anyway, it appears that Fall golf is upon us. I'm sure we'll get a few more hot days, but for all intents and purposes the cooler weather is here to stay. I hope!!! We had 10 golfers vying for golf supremacy on Thursday morning. A number of guys still came out even though 1099-Jack was playing. Maybe his run of terror is over?

*****POINTS*****
We had a little bit of an anomaly this morning, we had a tie between father and son for the Points title. "Naked Gun" and his son "Little Navy-gun" were the winners this morning, both shooting a +4 to edge out all of the other competitors, even 1099-Jack. Finishing second were Marshall and Hergy, posting +3's to almost edge out the family members. *
Marcus was the medalist winner today, posting a 78, he easily outdistanced the second place winner Hergy at 86.
*
*****SCORES*****
Scores weren't real good today. The heavy rough is really raising havoc with chipping and long distance iron shots. If you're in the rough, you're in trouble!
-38- Marcus
-39-
-40- Hergy, Marcus
-41-
-42- Ron
-43- Duke, Don
-44- Ernie, Marshall, Louie
-45- Larry, Marshall, Ron

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
~~~~~~
We had a split decision on the team competition today. The team of Ernie, Marshall and Louie walked away with two-thirds of the pot by winning the front with a +1/2 (Azalea) and holding on to win the 18 with a +6. They shot a very respectable +5 on the back but fell to the team of Ron, Marcus, Don, and 1099-Jack who fired a +6 on the back, but only managed a -6 on the front.
*
The team in the middle, Larry, Hergy and Duke shot a -1 on the front to barely lose out and then shot a +4 to finish second in the 18 hole scoring race with a +3. As we know, second place in all these events pays "0".
*****ITEMS*****
We are still on track for our October 16th College Extravaganza!
We are one short on the Clemson-side (again) this year.
What is it with you guys!
Be sure to let me know if you are going not going to be able to make it!
Houndslake has hired a MARSHALL - his name is Darryl Collinsworth. For now, he will just be randomly patrolling vs. "controlling". He will be assuming a little more responsibility as soon as he settles in and gets to know the groups, etc.
