We had 10 golfers for our excursion to Cedar Creek Golf club this morning. All in all a very nice time was had by all (I think). The course is really quite different from our "norm" at HCC and it was reflected in the scores - only two in the 80's (88-89).
*
The general consensus was that it , in most cases, it had been a long time since everyone had played it and they had forgotten its "idiosyncrasies" and thought they would play better the second time around or so! Those of us who had never played it before found it a little difficult than HCC, especially the "island" type greens and the "subtleties" (breaks) of the greens were a little difficult to pick up! Discussion was held as to whether or not we want to play it again in the "NEAR" future.

*****POINTS*****
As an example of how "out of sorts" everyone was today....well, lets just say it was so bad that Ernie won the points competition. Yes race fans, NASCAR Ernie, straight from his lakeside estate near Florence was the gifted golfer of the day. Posting a rather modest +3, Ernie held on to beat "TV Louie" and the "Naked Gun" the only other "positive" golfers (+1's) for the day. everyone else was into the negative numbers, some a little, some a lot!Medalist honors went, as expected to our host for the day, "Keibler" Bob with a 88, follow by the "TV Rev - Louie" at 89. The only 80's type rounds of the day. Low 9-hole score (43)
*
*****SCORES*****
-43- Bob
-44- Louie, Ron
-45- Bob, Louie, Ernie(2), Hergy(2)
Now that I see the score breakdowns, it appears we didn't have a very good day after all,
did we?

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
We had a near-sweep in the team category this morning. We know for sure that the team of Ernie, Duke and Jack won the back nine (-1) and the 18 (-2). I think they split the front with a
-1. I was so dazed from our teams round that I couldn't see or hear straight. My score sheet shows that is what happened, so it must be true!
*
Sharing that front nine win (-1) with them was the team of Bob, Louie and Ron. This group of golf ball bangers posted a-1 on the front, -3 on the back to finish at -4 for the day.
*
The final team consisting of Hergy, Larry and Don s-u-c-k-e-d most of the way around and finished with a very handsome -13 for the day. To say that a couple of our players had a bad day would be like saying "Tommy Bowden was a good football coach!"
*
However, we did have a fun and relaxing time after, before and in-between horrendously bad golf shots.
*
*****ITEMS*****
Give some thought to the following items:
1. Whether or not we want to return within the next several weeks to Cedar Creek for another try at the course?
*
2. Where, if not at HCC, would you like to have the Christmas Party? Suggestions include: Willcox Hotel, Pinnacle Club (Augusta), Ejay's.
*
3. When do we want to have the Christmas Party?
*
4. Will Clemson win another football game this year?
Later! Duh Editor!

Not being much help, but I am flexible and will go along with the majority.
Order of my choices:
1. 11:00 tee time, Azalea-Dogwood
2. Keep as is - they are not so slow as to get too upset about their play.
3. Play Laurel and enjoy it while we can.
Herg,
Responding to a blog is a new process to me. I am Jack, and I just sent my comments, but forgot to provide my name.
My comments were:
1. Get 11:00 tee time.
2. Continue our regular time and follow Piesch group - not so slow as to get upset.
3. Play Laurel and enjoy it while we can.
Thanks,
Jack
