Glad to be back from vacation and all the fun (if you can call being cooped up with twin 3 yr old grand-daughters fun). We did our best to keep the American economy humming along, spending our way to the North country, and yes...it was chilly (low 40's - I must almost be a southern boy about now since I now think that 40 is cold!). Anyway I missed the golf and jovial camaraderie (?) associated with our game.

It appears that we have settled into a 10:00 am time slot with the Pro shop. We will vary our starting course and try to move in between the other major groups that play on Tue-Thurs. (Women, Dogfight, WDF, Peck Group, Peisch Group). I'll still post the times in the blog as kind of the "final" source, but you will need to check occasionally top stay in tune with whats happening.

We had seven golfers out this morning, a little wet, but all-in-all a very nice morning to play golf. The course really took the rain quite well. The greens and approaches were a little wet (understatement) but other than that it was pretty decent. However:

I leave for one stinking minute and you guys lets the steroid- taking, dog-smelling, dope-sniffing, tail-wagging puppies from Wofford take over. These guys are on something! They won or have shared in the last four outings! It has to STOP! First the Teacher-boy wins with a +9 (9/30), then POY-boy wins consecutive times with a +6 (10/2) and a +7 (10/7) and now today, we have a three-way tie and two of them are Wofford graduates! That sucks! Of course, as we know, their little flame will burn out and they will go back to being meek little bookworms. Meanwhile, today a three-way at +1 allowed the Naked Gun, POY-boy (again) and "Teflon" Bob to split the huge pool of funds ($7). Larry this is three-weeks in a row for you....it appears you are attempting to influence the POY judges again, but it will be for naught!!!!!

Not much to write home about today score-wise. The "Teflon-boy" is shooting some pretty good golf right now, posting a medalist round of 83, including a nice 39. Other than that, we only had 5 other scores that qualified!

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****

The team competition left a little bit to be desired today. It was a split decision and was one of those days when nobody "won-it", you kind of got it by default.

The team of Larry, Don, Ron and Bob posted a -10 on the front (losing), but bounced back to a +5 on the Dogwood to finish the 18 in -5 for the day and they were still able to win with that.

However bad you may think that is, the team of Ernie, Hergy and George posted identical scores of -4 on the front (winning) and -4 on the back for a 18 hole total of -8, unable to surpass the feeble attempts (-5) of Team Larry! That really kind of sucks!

*****ITEMS*****

At a secret meeting help somewhere along I-39 in southern Wisconsin, it was decided to POSTPONE the College tournament from the tentative October 16th date until we can muster up a little better day to have it on!

Turns out a lot of conflicts were popping up, either that or the Clemson and Carolina teams are fearful of the Wofford boys and afraid of being embarrassed again this year. A better date in the future will be selected and all parties will be advised.
