Ten golfers answered the call for the weekly HHH & S outing this morning. Playing the Dogwood/Azalea route, we were bashed about the head (again), by the stinking fast greens. Almost everybody suffered through the round(s) failing to acclimate to the putting differences (again) involving the speed of the greens between the two courses.
*
BTW, it has been 182 days and counting since you have been able to run a ball up on the green rather than having it plug. Q: When-o-when are those fronts going to dry out? A: At the same time that we have sand in the traps!

*****POINTS*****
Invoking an editorial privilege, I am refusing to put TV Louie's picture (at least a nice one) up as he was again the winner of today's contest. Posting a +6, even with Ernie as a partner, Louie put together two nice rounds of 43-42 to win the money. In second place for the point title was Tommy at +4 and Jack at +3. Medalist honors for the day resulted in a tie between Tommy and Louie (twin 85's). Good scores on tough greens!

*****SCORES*****
How bad were the scores you ask? Well, only 8 of the nine hole scores out of a possible 20 made the "bogey" cut. That is way below our normal incompetence !! The best 9-hole round was only a 42. Ouch!

-42- Bob, Tommy, Louie
-43- Tommy, Louie
-44- Bob, Hergy, Duke

*****TEAM*****
The team competition resulted in a sweep for the team of Walt, Duke, Ernie and Louie. Shooting a +3.5 Azalea and a +4.5 Dogwood, there eighteen hole total of +8 was good for all the cash!
*
Second place in the team event was the team of Ron, Jack and Tommy. These young fellas shot a +1.5 on the front, a +2.5 on the back to slip into second with a +4 overall.
*
Struggling wa-a-a-y behind was the group of Bob, Larry and Hergy. Posting a meager +.5 on the Azalea and a very poor -8.5 on the Dogwood, this group finished 18 at -8. Only 16 points away from the winners!

*****ITEMS*****
I am checking into various options for the Annual Christmas Dinner. If you have any favorites you would like to consider, please let me know! Those currently mentioned include, Houndslake, Pinnacle Club (Augusta), EJ's, Catering (Ron Williams home)
