For all of those little wimpy boys who couldn't get permission from mama to play today, or were all wrapped up in their little warm blankies, you missed a fantastic day in late November to play golf or something like it!

*****POINTS*****

We tried our new HHH & S handicap system today, with mixed results.

Dr. Larry who won the Points title today was very pleased, as he was aided a little by the new system, but even at that he still managed a very nice +9 to win the day.

By the way, am I mistaken or is this the time that Larry usually begins his annual POY rally to influence the judges and skew the tabulated results ? Me thinks that is the case!

In any event, Mr. Banker-boy (currently Mr. Broke-boy) wasn't quite as pleased as the new system cost him a couple strokes and the title as he posted a very strong +8 to finish second.

Tommy did how ever post the low round for the day at 79, followed by the little Georgia "elf" at 80. No one else was real close, as the fast greens again took their toll on our scores.

Only ten of the potential 18 scores qualified for the "Honor Roll" today. Some guys are struggling with putting and some with long irons and drivers, and others.....their just struggling along as usual! Here are the results:

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****

The team competition resulted in a sweep by the team of Larry, Ron and Don. Jumping on Larry's back and making him carry them around the course, they shot a +4 on the Azalea and +2 on the Dogwood to finish the 18 in a +6.

Finishing in the runner-up position was the team of Bob, Duke and Hergy. These golfing stalwarts shot a +3 1/2 on the Azalea and a - 3 1/2 on the Dogwood to finish the 18 dead even.

Last and deservedly so was the grouping of Jack, George and Tommy. They managed to finish at -3 for the front and -3 for the back,resulting in a -6 for the day. This, in spite of having the day's medalist on their team. Hey boys....you need to learn to ride the critter when he's out of the barn! Jump on his back and let him do all the work.....like Ron and Don did to Larry. That's how you win in the big time!

Annual HHH & S Christmas Party & Kegger.

This is a tentative date for now until we check to see how it fits everyone's schedule. The alternate date is Thursday, December 11, 2008.

It was a general consensus of those remaining after golf today, that this first date might be the better of the suggestions I received from Julie at Houndslake. Let me know within the next day or so if yo think this date will fit in with your plans. I will be producing an entire blog with the menu and costs, time and place, etc within the next few days.

*****HHH & S Handicap System*****

We are going to put the switch to the HHH &S Handicap system "under review" until January 1 and see if it "performs" according to expectations. It appears that by using only 10 scores that it may be to "generous" to some and overly "harsh" to others. I applied the new scores today and only 4 people had a change in their handicap. The winner (Larry) went down two strokes and two others (Duke and Tommy) went down one and one (George) went up.

*****HEALTH ISSUES*****

Dan Bacot is in the hospital having some tests run.....Good Luck Dan!

Brent came out of his den to say hello as we went by today... he appears to doing well. Hurry back Brent, we need the money!

Paint boy is recovering from getting an Obama tattoo on his chest, over his heart!...It says

"I Love Hillary and Obama".........what's up with that Hillary thing man!
