I don't want to say its been cold, but I think this sign aptly expresses my "true" opinion about the weather. I thought it was supposed to "nice" in the South for Thanksgiving and Christmas.*
In spite of the recent cold spell and predicted rain showers, we had 6 golfers show up this morning for an abbreviated round of golf. Abbreviated, as several of our group could only participate for 9 holes due to attending a friends funeral early in the afternoon. We are in a little bit of a lull over the next week or so as a result of the Thanksgiving holiday, but note the above times and join in when you can!

*****POINTS/NASSAU/TEAMS*****
*
We had a split contest this morning. With 6 golfers at the beginning, we broke into two threesomes for a little 9 hole points contest. The winner of this portion of the day was the team of Duke, Hergy and Louie. The boys posted a +1 1/2 for the nine (Laurel), while the team of Larry, Don and Bob struggled around the Laurel to the tune of -6 1/2. Winning the Points title ended in a tie between Louie and Larry, both with a mediocre +1 score.
*
With Duke and Bob having to leave, the contest turned to a nine-hole Nassau w/ Trash. No contest! The team of Hergy and Louie smoked Larry and Don 5-0 on the holes and +3 on the trash. Hergy was the medalist for the 18 holers shooting an 85 which included a nice 39 on the Azalea, Louie was second with a 90, followed by Larry and Don with a 91 and 92 respectively.

It appears that December 9th will be the date of the Annual HHH & S Christmas Dinner
(Check the next blog report for the details)

We have been told that the closing of the Laurel golf course has been set back until this summer. Apparently, a "large" amount of repair/renovation will be ongoing throughout the Spring and the Club wants to maintain that 18 holes will always be available for play. That's good news....I think! Now, if we can just find a way to speed up play, it will be great!
*
Don is so infatuated by the Laurel course that he is thinking of spending the $1.2 million on his own to purchase and perserve this golfing treasure. In his honor, we are going to refer to the course as the "SEABROOK NINE".
