Wow!, what a great October day......wait a minute....it's December!

Talk about nice weather, today was fantastic.

We had 10 golfers out this AM. even some of the usual "wimpies" (that's those that think 55° is cold) were out in force today. The course is a little wet (still) from the rain last week, but not enough to hinder play. The greens, however, are another story. These terms in no certain order describe the greens....slick, furry, rough, fast, slow, bad, good, and my personal favorite, "pissy"!

We had another tie this morning. This time, between a couple of guys with both Wofford (Terriers) and Carolina (Gamecocks) ties....this picture, courtesy of the University of Clemson Good Ol' Boy breeding network!

Yes, Ron and Larry tied this morning with a +5 point total to "seal the deal". Four others tied at +3 (Don, Louie, Duke and Jack). It appears from the last couple of outings that someone is beginning a campaign of actively sandbagging and they are now coming forward in hopes of influencing the POY judges. Shame on you award-seeking miscreants!. Play fair....let me win an award sometime! (The highlighting above is for editorial review personnel only - do not read it please, it is confidential)

Medalist honors was also a tie between Don and Ron with identical scores of 85. Close behind were Louie and Larry with a pair of 88's.

Pretty decent number of scores listed today on the Honor Roll! That's a 70% success ratio (14/20). In addition, we had an additional 3 scorers with 46's and a couple of 47's. Only one other score was above those (50). That's a pretty good on the links for us hackers!

We had a sweep this morning and it wasn't really very close. The team of George, Don and Larry walked away with all the goodies! Posting a +4 on the Azalea course and a +6 on the Dogwood, they walked away with the 18 hole championship with a resounding +10.

Next closest (Second) was a tie between the teams of Ron, Hergy and Tommy (+1/2 AZ and +2 1/2 DW = +3 for 18) and the team of Louie, Duke, Jack and Bob (+4 on AZ and -1 on DW = +3).

Technically, the team of Ron, Hergy and Tommy were better since they didn't have a negative number.........and if Tommy and Hergy would quit putting like little freaking girls, they would have beat everybody! But such is the game of golf!

Everything is ready to go for the party next Tuesday.

We will have a robust group of 18 party-goers.

Thanks to everyone for getting their menu orders to me on a timely fashion.

Give some thought as to whether or not we should have a "competition recess" for the remaining dates after Christmas! (Dec 27, 30 and Jan 3rd) and resume our normal schedule after the New Year (January 6th).
