We had a real nice turnout this morning, the day of the big Christmas Dinner and the awarding of the 4th Player Of the Year Award.

Most all of the nominees were present this morning and were attempting to do their best to influence the P-O-Y Selection Committee, hoping that some last minute miracle would lead them to the coveted award.

Alas, fair golfers, it's too late......The horse is in the barn and the door is shut!

A very competitive outing this morning for the Point Championship. Louie was the ultimate winner with a very nice +6, but not before he had to turn away the "Naked Gun" with a +4 and three-time Player of the Year, Dr. Larry (+4).

The Steve Spurrier look-alike also was the medalist today, shooting an 85 to best both Ron and Tommy (86's). Pretty good day Louie!

*****HONOR ROLL*****

Everyone brought their "A" game to the course today. Of the eleven golfers this morning, only one shot a negative score...and that was only a -1. All ten others were at least "0" or better!

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****

Unfortunately, as competitive as the Point Championship was, the team competition was a blow out! The team of Jack, Don, Ron and Louie swept the event finishing the 18 with a +14, that included a +5 1/2 on the Azalea and a +8 1/2 on the Dogwood.

Picking up the scraps for second place was the team of Walt, Larry and Hergy. Posting a +2 1/2 on the Azalea and a + 4 1/2 on the Dogwood, allowing for a distant +7 point total for the 18.

The final group of Duke, Marshall, Ernie and Tommy started out with the right idea by posting a very good + 6 1/2 on the Dogwood, but they fell off the pace by posting a rather pedestrian - 6 1/2 on the back to finish the 18 at "0".
