STOP THE RAIN, I WANT TO DRY OUT!

***** TEE TIME INFORMATION *****

We currently  have a tee time for Thursday (January 28) at HOUNDSLAKE @ 11:12 & 11:20 am,
CART PATH ONLY!

I have sent an email looking into the possibility of switching to Aiken Golf Club to see if we can encourage a little more activity. We could ride, in addition, to playing on a course that wasn't in "swamp-like" conditions!

***** GENERAL INFORMATION *****

We only had four golfers out today and in all honesty, the conditions sucked!  It was chilly because of the wind and the course is still extremely wet - I mean sloppy wet as in "can't hardly walk on the stuff wet"

We thought it would warm up as the day went along, Wrongo!  It was so uncomfortable that Don "ALMOST" put on a wind shirt.  That's how chilly it was!  The greens are so-so.  No consistency from one to another, some fast, some slow...all wet!   It doesn't look better for the long run either.  The forecast is for rain on Friday and possibly Saturday.

In  January '08 we had 10 play dates that "qualified" as offical (4 or more players).  In 'January 09, we had 9 such dates!  This month, so far, we have had 3 outings, with only two of them with the required 4 or more players.  If we play on Thursday, it will be the 3rd time for the month of January.

As a result of the abbreviated play, you are going to get an abbreviated report!

***** INDIVIDUAL HONORS *****

 We  played a simple foursome today using the points format.  The front nine (Dogwood) was quite competitive.  Brent won the nine with a +2 (42), Hergy was second with a + 1/2.  Don was third at "0" and the little "Smurf"- David finished at -3.

The back nine( Azalea or should I say Lake Azalea) everyone kind of fell apart.  I think it was the wind and wet more than any kind of reaction to the chilly weather.  Don dazzeled with a +3 to win it!  Brent finished at an even "0", Hergy was at -2 1/2 and David was -1.

As a result of his fantastic nine (sic), Don won the eighteen witha score of +3, followed by Brent (+2) and Hergy and David were both in at -4.
