IS IT SPRINGTIME YET?

***** TEE TIME INFORMATION *****

Things appear to be heading back to a regular pattern, if we can keep the cold weather from returning and the rains from falling that is.

The course is so-o-o wet right now that any more rain we may have to suspend play for a week or so.  Even as it is, the course is marginally okay.  There is no roll, the greens are uneven and shaggy, we are cartpath only - but it does beat cabin fever.

Option 2, if it continues to rain, we may need to consider Aiken Golf Club since it tends to dry out more quickly than Houndslake.

At least for another week or so, I will continue to call the Club at 10:00 am on our regular play days and confirm our tee times for that day.  You may want to take a peek at your e-mail before launching out the door.

***** GENERAL INFORMATION *****

After having said all that about how difficult it is to play, it is apparently better than the alternative of staying inside and dealing with "you-know-who".  We had our largest group of the season on Tuesday with 10 golfers (nine in the competition - Duke is "playing" his way into shape), it turned out to be a very nice day - almost warm enouigh for shorts!  Unfortuantely, it was extremely slow - wet and cart-path only - so we opted to play Dogwood - Dogwood.  One bit of interesting news, since we tend to play quite fast and occasionally have only threesomes, the Club has decided that we will be allowed to play fivesomes (possible six-some as well) in order to keep from running into the slower groups ahead of us!  Interesting? We'll see if it works!
The forecast is for rain on Thursday and possibly Saturday, if so, we have kind of decided that we would not be pursuing any type of tee time. Just to wet!   If it rains Wednesday night or Thursday AM - stay in bed,  I know I will!

***** INDIVIDUAL HONORS *****

Alright, enough is enough!  David, he of the smurf heritage, won again, this time with a score of +10.  Shooting an 82, David led all golfers and added the medalist honors as well.  Stumbling into second at a measley +5 was his little smurf buddy - Rev Louie (85) and Tax-boy Jack (95).  Other rounds in the 80's included Brent at 85 and Hergy at 87.  Positive scores were turned in by: Ernie at +2 (92).

Looming on the dark side today were: Paint-boy -2 (92), Ron -5 (95), Duke -5 (96), Larry - 6 (102).  It should be noted that we were "cart path only" and Dogwood - Dogwood.  No roll, all carry.  Not surprisingly the scores showed the results.

As mentioned above Medalist Honors went to David with an 82, followed by Louie and Brent with 85's.
