Wow! Two days in a row

***** GENERAL INFORMATION *****

How long  has it been since we've heard the words: "What a great day to play golf!"  Well that and more was bantered about today as 6 of us battled on the Pre-Labor Day turf for golf supremacy.

Although only 5 made the full 18, we had a great day and it is incumbent upon me as the "arbiter of good tidings" to report that Jack played "out of his mind" this morning and shot a personal best record round of 85.  Shooting a 39 on the front and tapering off (as we all did) on the back to a 46.

Meanwhile the rest of us struggle trying to shoot a decent score on the second nine, which continues to elude most of us.  It appears that the continuous play at the nine-hole level has impacted our stamina and ability to play at a consistent level over the last 9 holes.  I guess we will get back to our skill set at 18 (such as it is) over the next couple of weeks.

***** INDIVIDUAL HONORS *****

The point winner for Thursday was JACK at +13, not bad Jack, not bad at all!  A distant second place finish for the day goes to Larry at +4, only 9 behind.

The medalist honors on Thursday went to JACK with an 85. Second place in todays outing goes to Bob with an 87.

As you can see, we didn't exactly burn up the score cards!  Mostly because of the fact that we were in awe of Jack's round!

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****

The team of HERGY, JACK and BOB easily won the front nine today with a very definitive +9. Second place on the front was claimed by the threesome of David, Larry and Walt.

The back was not contested as Walt had to leave for the beach, so we played a fivesome "points only." That particular contest was won by JACK & LARRY at +3.
