Tee Times:

August 30 Thursday 9:12AM Dogwood-Laurel

A quiet day on the links today. We had a great turnout of 12 golfers which allowed us to set up three very competitive foursomes.

Individual Honors
<-----Hergy (current) Louie (archive)----->
Hergy and Louie split the point honors today with a
competitive +5. Hergy ended up with a respectable 83 for the day and Louie was close with an 85.

Hergy was the medalist with 83, followed by Tommy's 84 and Louie's 85 . Other notable nines included: Tommy shooting a pair of 42's (84), Brent had a 43 (Azalea), Louie a 42 (Azalea), Ron W. and Brent shots 43's (Azalea) and Hergy had the best nine of the day with a 40 on the Laurel .

Team Competition
The team of Hergy, Duke, Brent and Ron Garrett eked out a front nine and 18 hole victory with a modest +3 (+2 1/2 on the front and a +1/2 on the back). Close behind in second place and winning the back nine with a +4 was the team of Ron W., Larry, Don (he of the practicing fame) and Louie. Unfortunately, a -2 on the front did them in for the overall score.

The third team, which welcomed a couple visitors to their ranks, comprised of Marshall, Tommy, Dan Bacot and Harold Enlow barely missed winning the front (by 1/2) and then succumbing to the heat and the intense pressure to perform at the optimum levels for 18 holes to fall a little off the pace on the back nine.

Editor's Note:

The editor of this tabloid will be bringing his camera to the next "outing" to get more recent pictures of the weekly combatants as some of the older pictures in the editor's archive are probably not representative of the player's current physique and/or rugged good looks.
