Rules of the Game:
1. You will play using POINTS that will be set using your established handicap as of October 1, 2007.
2. You will play Azalea - Dogwood courses as a threesome. (18 holes)
3. Tee times will be determined later.
4. One player from each “School” will be represented on each threesome.
5. We will play for 1st place (1 point), 2nd Place (2 points) and 3rd place (3 points) per threesome.
6. The winning school will be the one with the lowest point total. (i.e. If you’d finish 1st in one group (1 pt) , 2nd in two others (4pts) , and 3 in one (3pts), you would have 8 points. If that was the lowest accumulated total, you would be the winners. No one can finish lower than 3rd!
7. Ties scores will result in a the awarding of split points
8. If the team totals are tied, the team with the highest cumulative POINT totals will be the winner.
9. We will have 3 individual “skill” contests in addition:
a. Closest to the Pin (Hole to be determine later)
b. Closest 2nd shot (Hole to be determined later)
c. Long Putt (Hole to be determined later)
10. Wearing of appropriate school attire will be encouraged, so we can readily tell you apart. For instance, the Tournament Director will be properly attired in the Scarlet RED of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and his Assistant will be attired in the appropriate BLUE of the Presbyterian Blue Hose.
Rewards:
1. A financial incentive ($5.00) for winning the total event.
2. An individual award for the most points ($1.00)
3. An individual award for Medalist (1.00)
4. A money award for each of the “Skill” contests ($3.00)
5. Most importantly, the LOSERS must acknowledge in a public forum, i.e. (a formal statement at the Christmas Dinner) that the winning school has the SUPERIOR golfing alumni for the year of 2007. There will be no requirement that the winning team remain “humble” as a result of this victory.
6. The winning team, along with the individual winners will be immortalized by having their picture(s) in the HHH&S newsletter, along with a NICE article about their collective skills.
