FUTURE TEE TIMES

Tuesday, September 25th 9:20 - 9:28 AM Laurel-Azalea

The Saturday edition of HHH & S is ready to roll. A rather abbreviated group in the AM, only 5, but a hearty and resourceful group. Notice, I did not say skilled or talented or anything about how they play the game of golf. As you will note from the information presented below, they need a little work on their golf games.

Individual Honors

We only had one player achieve the envious mark of positive points this AM. Walter won the big bucks with an impressive +4 (46-46) and left the rest of us wondering what happened to our games.

Don was the closet at -2, Ron and Hergy finished with -3's and Larry suffered through a tough and frustrating morning with something worse.

With the BIG COLLEGE TOURNAMENT only a week or so away, everyone is attempting to establish themselves with the most favorable handicapping position. I don't want to suggest anything unsportsmanlike is happening, but the Terrible Terriers from Wofford who comprised 3/5 of today's outing, seem to be rounding their handicaps into shape (if you get my drift)!

Either that or they are among the worst golfers in recent HHH & S history. I have a feeling, though, that their Captain and media spokesman, Mr. Ernie, will have a little talk with his Terrieretts (plural of Terriers is Terrieretts) and they will be ready to go on Oct 4th! Take heed Chicken men, also you Tiger "Pause", you may be outfoxed by the boys with the high SAT's...........again!

Team Competition

Since we didn't have a team competition today, I want to take this opportunity to apologize to the Wofford graduates for insinuating that their mascot (the Terriers) is a less than fearsome beast and that their fight song is "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?". That was tacky of me, but it is after all a slow news day! Anyway, I went onto the Internet and checked the game page information and was able to lift this fearsome looking logo:

Please know that I am humbled and embarrassed by my less than pithy (Larry word) comments of this morning. After further review, your Terrier is much more fearsome than a chicken or an ear of corn, but not as nasty as a Tiger foot (paw)! BTW, as of the writing of this blog, they (Wofford) are tied with App. State, which is quite a feat! Go Terriers! (Hopefully, little Terrier, your Alums can keep up the Wofford tradition next week).

See you all on Tuesday,

Editor

P.S. To Larry ....... you will appreciate this: When I use the spell check, Wofford comes up "Woofed", as in "bow-wow". He-he :-)
