ROAD TRIP - COOPER'S CREEK
.

***

The HHH & S traveling squad survived their first road trip of the fall. We went to Cooper's Creek for a two team, 18 hole epic battle. The course, overall, was probably a 4 on a scale of 10. (Houndslake would be about a 7.5 or 8, by comparison). The small greens were a 8.0 for condition, but a "10++++" for difficulty. Nobody, and I mean nobody, could putt the greens.
.

What is going on with everyone's golf game? For the second straight outing, we as a collective group, played atrocious (that's a Larry word) golf. Everyone is struggling with every facet of their game. Let's hope that as we head to the fall, everyone's game will improve!

Individual Honors

***

Hergy, pictured here about 6 months ago, was the winner, almost by default. He was the only golfer to crack the plus category with a +2 (88) for the day. That was the result of a +1, +1 output for the two nines. Everyone else took the day off. Marshall managed a +1 on the front and Brent had a "0" on the front as well for the only other "positive" rounds of golf.

Hergy, shot an 88 (44-44) and was the only one in the 80's. Duke also had a 44 on the front nine.

Team Competition

***

The winning team shown here, played like a well-oiled machine. Although they did lose the front (-1/2 to -3), they did manage to stay away from the real "ugly" nine hole scores. Posting a -3 on the front and a -4 on the back (18 hole total of -7), they soared to a back nine and overall 18 hole victory. Their competition, shown below, managed to post a very respectable -1/2 on the front and then came crashing down to a -8 1/2 on the back for an 18 hole total of -8. Overall, a tight, competitive battle.

You will also note, the winning team is one heck of a lot better looking than the losing team. I guess that just kind of comes with the territory. All in all, we had a great day and an enjoyable time. Thanks to Ron for setting it up and Duke and Don for driving!
