Editorial Correction

You know how those Clemson guys s-t-r-e-t-c-h the truth when considering their athletic accomplishments!
This editor awoke in the middle of the night feeling as though he was a turtle with a golf ball stuck in his whatever! After today's round it was determined and accepted as fact that Duke had achieved a point total for the 18 hole competition yesterday of +3 1/2 points and Ernie had +4 and you know the rest of that story!
Last night, to my horror, I realized you CAN'T have a +3 1/2 point total for 18 holes, in fact it's impossible to have anything other than a whole number for 18 holes.

A quick re-calculation from the gross scores I had copied down for the blog indicated that the little orange dumpling "Duke" in reality had a lower score overall of 86 with a higher or equal handicap than Ernie's 87 with a 19 handicap.
Since I no longer have the original score cards I have to assume that the correct number for Duke was +4. There was never a doubt that Duke had won, only a mistake in how it was reported in the confusion in the Grill Room. Sorry!

End of story....now if I can only remove this golf ball.
