Our luck continues.....it never rains on GOLF Day. What a great day for golf. If anything, it was a little hot (still) and everyone was trying to figure out the proper attire. We had everything from shorts and short-sleeves to near antarctic type rain/wind jackets! The winner of the clothing derby....the shorts and short-sleeved set! We had a nice turnout this morning, 7 strikers of the little pellet showed up ready to make another "charitable" contribution, especially since the Clemson sandbagger (BB) was playing.

Individual Honors

Lookee, lookee, who won the cookie today! None other than 2 time (yes, 2 time) Player of the Year, Wofford Alumni Championship team member, hitter of the long ball and short putts, official HHH & S Librarian, spell checker, and kennel cleaner, Dr. Larry!

Missing in action for several weeks, the good Dr. shot a very nice +9 today, to go along with his 41-42 = 83 round. That feat also earned Larry the medalist honors as well. He was long off the tee, but putted like he was possessed. Come to think of it.....he may be possessed!

His outstanding play was good enough to beat the sandbagger who shot another sub 40 round (39-45 = 84) for a +4, good enough for second place. Jack & Don both carded +3's to finish a distant 3rd. Next best nines, excluding Larry and Brent were Don and Hergy with 43's on Dogwood!

Team Competition

Because of Larry' s heroics today, the team of Larry, George, Hergy and Don surged to a front nine victory of +2 to -1, only to succumb to a back nine rally that featured a +10 scoring frenzy by Brent, Jack and Walter. Every one of those turkeys finished with a "+" point round for the day. Overall they won the back and the 18 (+9 to +6).

Someone who's been winning a lot lately has taken OUR money and is using it against us! How's that for sportsmanship. (What can you expect from a Clemson fan!). This unnamed person

(initials BB) bought a brand new set of PING i10 iron's and is planning on using them against us in the future, and winning even more money......all the while, rejecting the pleas to adjust his handicap! Eventually, the "little people" will rise up and smite you and we don't accept refunds or used clubs (although Larry might take the used clubs, but he is not one of the "little people" as he has so often reminded us).
