It was the proverbial "good news - bad news" situation this morning. On the positive side, we had 10 golfers come out to cast their golf balls upon the greens of destiny. (I like that....greens of destiny stuff :-) ). On the negative side, due to an admitted screw up in the Pro shop (see Items below) the dogfight was allowed to tee off in the middle of our match, forcing the last group to go to Laurel in order to complete their round. The result of that of course, screws up the results of the HHH & S outing.

POINTS
The Clemson "Wannbe" was the winner of the "reduced" Points competition. Posting a +6, Brent bested the "Blue Hose Blaster" (Moody) at +5 and Jack(IRS boy) and the Florence Flash at +4. Moody was the medalist for the day posting a 79 (39-40), with Brent close behind at 81 and ERA at 88.

The trailing foursome was led by Hergy with an 88 (40-48), followed by Duke and Tommy at 89 and Ron at 90. The Laurel course was not in as good of shape as the Azalea course and the back nine scores followed suit.

NINES
(Bogey or better)
39 - Moody
40 - Moody, Brent, Hergy
41 - Brent
42 -
43 - Tommy, Ernie
44 - Duke
45 - Duke, Ron(2), Jack, Ernie, Larry
Nice sub 40 round by Mr. Moody today, first of the year and first sub 80 round as well.
Maybe the "swing" is returning!

TEAMS
*
No money exchanged hands in any of the team events today. The first group split the nines, with Jack, TV Louie and Brent winning the Dogwood nine and Moody, ERA and POY boy winning the Azalea nine. They tied for the eighteen at +6.
*
The flailing foursome finished up on the Laurel course with a 9-hole Nassau. Ron and Duke winning a press on #9 to win the match (+1) but losing the "Trash" to Tommy and Hergy which, in effect tied everything up. Kind of like kissing your sister!

ITEMS
1. Micah was very apolegetic about the "mix-up" on the tee times. He took responsibility and said it was their mistake, they were wrong and vowed that it would not happen again. He offered to do "something" to make it right for the aggreived foursome. It was refreshing, at least, for them to accept the responsibility for the problem. All too often in the past, it was always our fault, right or wrong never seemed to matter!
*
2. Congrats to Hergy for his Eagle on #9 (Dogwood) Sunday. The thirty mile an hour wind allowed Herg to hit his drive hole high, off the green about 30'. A simple matter for him to putt through the grass, breaking down the slope and into the hole for an easy "EAGLE". It was rather timely as it allowed he and Ernie to make good on a double press and tie the match.
Needless to say, Banker boy and Paint boy were not as thrilled about it as Herg and Ernie.
*
3. If we don't see all the "Cruisers" on Thursday, take care, travel safe and think of us poor souls who had to remain in Aiken, golfing in beautiful 70 degree weather (hopefully) while you sail the Seven Seas........or at least the Carribbean.
