The weather was great, the courses are drying out and the greens are picking up speed. Now if we can get our skill levels to improve as rapidly as the courses are improving we might actually enjoy this game.
The "Wofford Wonder" was the point winner this morning. Ron led the way with a +4 effort, besting both Hergy and the Florence Flash who finished with decent +3's.
Ron was also the medalist with an 84 (43-41), while Hergy was close behind with an 85 (43-42).
NINES
(Bogey or better)
Scoring average today: 88.1 Thats good for a B-
Lowest scoring average to date for 2008.
TEAMS
Just two threesomes today with decent scores on the individual sides that somehow never translated to the team competition. The team of Ernie, Duke and Ron swept it all quite easily, winning the three segments by shooting a +5 on the front and a +3 on the back for an overall +8.
*
Contrast those scores against the +1 front, +1 back for a +2 eighteen for the team that can't putt straight, Hergy, Tommy and Don.
ITEMS
Another dubious record for Huskerboy today. On #2 Azalea, Hergy hit his drive a -40 yards.
The low drive struck the ladies tee marker and shot backwards about 40 yards and into the trees. His next shot hit the trees and dropped straight down, lying two, he is now even with the tee box. Needless to say, Hergy was glad that we cap the holes at double bogey!
