Since we only had five this morning, we changed the game from the points format to $.25 skins. The scores were real ugly (hence the picture) and double bogey was a GOOD score, on most holes. The Naked Gun won 7 skins by sandbagging his score until the carryovers were substanial and then he would play decent. The "wanna-be" was next with 6 and his skill was almost as pathetic as Naked boy. Banker-boy and POY-boy won two each and the biggest loser of the day (in more ways than one) was Husker-boy who played so poorly that he didn't even win or contend for even a single hole. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Tommy was the only person to pull his points (+1) and Brent broke even (0).
**Sorry, I just noticed that Paintboy is in the picture - the little guy in the turquoise tights - and he didn't play today. I guess this is an older picture. My apoligies to the other 4 guys for putting Don in there.
ITEMS
I checked with Mt. Vintage concerning a Tuesday tee time. They said that the course is usually closed on Mondays, but since Monday was a holiday (President's Day), they would be closed on Tuesday as well. Thursday was available but I didn't book it. The cost was $95 with NO senior discount available and he would not guarantee that we would be able to ride the fairways vs. cart path only. We can discuss on Thursday. We can check Aiken GC, Bartram Trail, Cedar Creek, Midland Valley for a change. So for now: Houndslake CC on Tuesday (see above for tee times).
Only significant event of the round today occured on 18. Brent sank about a 25' putt for a birdie to apparently win the last hole, but Tommy (Clemson sandbagger that he is) followed suit and made a similar putt (they were within inches of each other) to tie the hole and deprive Brent the additional funds ($1.25) necessary for a football scholarship endowment to Clemson. These Clemson guys really know how to take care of each other! (I thought a Clemson degree was worth more than $1.25 though?)
