Wow, we had a full house today. Twelve golfers made their way to the HCC to cast their fate (and money) to the golf gods. The weather was great, the course was a little wet and the greens are coming around. Too bad our golf games aren't!
*
Not a good day for lowering your handicap, at least most everyone who played went in the wrong direction - that is, if you were trying to lower your number, it was the wrong direction.
*
POINTS
*
The "Aiken Math-man" led all of the golfers in the Points Challenge this morning with a great +7. Walt shot a very respectable 42-47=87 to walk away from the competition. In fact, the next closet golfers were St. George and Banker-boy, who were stuck at +2. That's a five stroke victory margin. What's Carole been feeding you Walt?*
The medalist honors today were a tie between Banker-boy and the Naked Gun at 87. George was close behind at 88 and three pretenders were at 89 to close out the "good" scores.
_
As a pathetic group we averaged 91.75 today which is a Grade of "D". Not much more to be said on that topic.

TEAM COMPETITION
*******************************
A two way split for the team competition this morning. The team of Brent, Don, Walt and Tommy won the back nine with a modest 1.5 compared to a -6.5 from the team of Ron, Larry, George and Dan.
*
However, Ron and company had a +5.5 on the front compared to a +3.5 for Brent's group, winning that particular nine hole competition. The eighteen hole result went to the team of Brent, Don, Walt and Tommy by a final tally of +5 to -1.
*
Now if you are a astute reader of this blog you will notice that I referred to 12 golfers (3-foursomes) and the above discussion only involved two of the three. What, you may wonder in shocked amazement happened to the "other" group. Let me be as delicate with the description of this groups performance today as I can.......
*
THEY SUCKED!
*
This unnamed group led by the great unwashed finished a record-setting (2008) -16, as in minus sixteen. In all fairness, two of the members played poorly(-2) and did contribute to the group's demise, but the other two turkeys stunk it up big time (-6 and -5).
*
However, in their defense, the close teamwork exhibited by the players to reach this record of futility was remarkable. If someone hit a bad shot, the other three hit a worse one just to make their temamate feel better! Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
*
Until further notice, this group will not be allowed to play together for fear of self-destructing!
*
That's it for today!
