Sorry for the delay in posting the Saturday results but I had an "issue" with my system thanks to the wonderful weather we had last Saturday night.
*
Well, the golfing luck (weather wise) for our group continues to hold. Are we lucky or what? We had a very nice day to play golf on Saturday, before the nasty weather moved in. I think the golfing gods do that to us because we provide so much entertainment for them with our pathetic attempts at this game that they hate to see us miss a day. We had seven golfers in all for the Saturday event and the results are as follows:
*
POINTS
Since the stock market has "collapsed", the Banker-boy decided he needed to find a new source of income.....and he chose our little measly golf game as his target. Tommy shot a +9 (talk about sandbagging till you need it!) today to win the big individual pot ($7.00). Paint-boy was a distant second at +6.
Tommy was also the medalist with a sub 80 round of 79 and in the process set two 2008 season records this morning: his 38 is the low nine for the year and the +9 is the largest winning point total. Way to go Tommy!
*
NINES
Today's scoring average was: 90.14 - which is just a tad above bogey golf.
-38- Tommy -40- Don -41- Tommy -43- Ron -44- Ron,Don -45- ERA (2)

TEAM COMPETITION
The team competition this morning was a sweep by the team of Walt, Dan, ERA and Don with a +1.5 on the front and a +8.5 on the back for a +10 overall on the 18. The team of Ron, Tommy and Hergy could only muster a .5 on the front, +3.5 on the back for a +3 overall effort.

Six of the seven golfers had (+) scores this morning and only one was negative....really negative. It wasn't his fault though, on the way to the course he saw a little squirrel, begging for food. He was so heartbroken worrying about the little squirrel that he couldn't concentrate and kept hitting the ball out of bounds, 4-putt greens and hitting in the sand, etc, etc. (you get the picture here). However, due to the nature of his competitive spirit, he caught that little hungry squirrel on the way home and used him as a "sacrificial offering" to the golf gods. With nothing to worry about next time, I'm sure this golfers game will improve, its that, or another squirrel.
