Due to the "expected" weather for tomorrow, a "SPECIAL" gathering of crew was scheduled for today. A total of five golfers showed this Am and a $.25 SKIN game was in the offing. A fairly nice day ensued, maybe a little windy, but the course is improving and so are the greens - although several still resemble a race track and must have a Stemp meter of about 15-16.

SKINS
The head "bug-eater" was the big winner today. Hergy wrestled a total of 7 skins from the troops, shooting a very impressive (for him) 81 (42-39). Second place with 4 skins went to the Clemson "Wannabe" Brent and the final three skins went to our favorite little elf from Keebler, SC, Mr Moody.*
Two individuals failed to score even one little skin to save their self respect. To spare them from everlasting blog shame, I won't name them but Ron and Don just didn't get very many breaks today.

BTW, I see where there was an article about "criticism in blogs" allegedly driving some famous Chef to commit suicide. If you ever feel slighted or embarrassed by something that appears in this blog, let me know and I'll make a note of it. (I won't change it, just note it :-).

NINES
*********
A lot of good scores today. In fact the scoring average for today was 86.6. That's the best its been in 2008. Of the 10 possible scores (nines) only one was above bogey (45). Here's the listing:
-39-
Hergy

The plan is that if it is NOT raining tomorrow morning, that we will keep our original tee time and meet to play as long as we can....until the rain starts. Apparently, the rain is supposed to arrive at just about the same time as our golf.

I thought you might enjoy this little tidbit. As you know I've given some of you a hard time about being a Clemson Tiger or a Carolina Gamecock, not to mention the Wofford Puppies (Oops, Terriers) or the Presbyterian Blue Hose, etc. But this latest "insult" is just to much.*
As you know I'm from Nebraska and have had to live down the specter of rooting for an "Ear of Corn" (as in Cornhuskers), but now I can send in my hard earned money and receive an OFFICIAL authentic replica tee shirt from the 1890's when they were the Nebraska BUGEATERS. Have these idiots no shame!
*
If you would like, I will hold off on ordering mine until we can get a group together for some type of mass discount....why do I think this won't be a very big seller. somehow this makes rooting for a ear of corn look perfectly normal, even preferable.
