Believe it or not, we had 6 crazy people show up for golf this morning at the Aiken Golf Club. Only five stayed for the day of golfing fun, frolicking in the wind, dancing in the rain and chillin' out in the cool temperatures.
-
NASCAR Ernie decided at the last minute that he had "better" things to do than play golf in the rain. Kudos to the "crazy" five: POY-boy, Wanna-be, Husker-boy, Naked Gun and Banker-boy for letting nothing stop them from enjoying their golfing experience.
-
Let me put our day into perspective: the weather sucked big time, it was colder than a well diggers ass and it kept frickin' raining.....it sucked big time and we were nuts for being out there. Otherwise, we had a good time and the course was in very nice shape. The greens were are A+ and the course was in great shape overall , way superior to HCC at this particular time.
.
*****POINTS*****
Seemingly oblivious to the weather conditions, POY-boy showed us today why he is the three time POY. Posting a modest +2, Larry led the other four golfers with the only positive results of the day.
-
There was substantial debate afterwards as to the fact that Larry was "lucky" and won the POINTS competition because 1) everyone else was intimidated by the weather as "normal" people would have been, 2) received a "pass" from everyone because they felt sorry for him because he's "Larry", 3) everyone had been "bought off" by the Wofford Alumni Assoc. in order to protect the frail ego of "one of their own."

*****NINES*****
Scoring average for today was: 90.4 Right at the Bogey mark
i-
I would put the "Nines" in except the scorecards were wet and had chips of ice on them, after they dried I couldn't read them, except for the eighteen, Brent was the medalist for the day with an 88. Surprisingly there were 4-5 birdies in today's round:
-88-
Brent
-90-
Ron, Tommy
-92-
Larry, Hergy
The scores were close, the points weren't

TEAM COMPETITION
z-
The threesome of Ron, Larry and Brent took advantage of Tommy and Hergy by sweeping all of the team competition. They had a lesser negative number than Tommy and Hergy. It was like
-5 to -8. Real great scores! BTW, Brent set a HHH & S 2008 record for longest putt with 3 or more frozen fingers - 15' for a birdie no less! Great job Brent!

-----ITEMS-----
It was decided by unanimous vote that these scores, because of the conditions, would NOT be posted in the HCC handicap program. Too bad for all of you sandbaggers (TV-Louie in particular) who could have had a "free one" today.
.
Carolina Gamecocks have taken a commanding lead in the Athlete Arrest Sweepstakes, surging to a large lead 4-0 after a busy weekend on the Columbia campus. Smoke that weed, Girls! I have total confidence though that the Clemson athletes have some major plans for later this Spring and Summer to make sure that the Gamecocks don't get a shut out. Go Tigers!
