Ten little golfers (Nine regulars and a visitor) showed up this morning for a continuation of the Aiken version of the Master's Golf Tournament. We have everything they have in Augusta, except good golfers, large crowds, super fine golf course. They however, do not have the three-time POY - Dr. Larry; of course we don't have Tiger Woods, so I guess that evens things out. Anyway, here are the results:

*****POINTS*****
Due to another anonymous submission, I decided to stay with the nostalgia trend to highlight our two winners of the point competition today! Yes golf fans, the person on the left is our own 3-time POY, Dr. Larry, and the one on the right with all the facial hair is the Husker-boy.
What's the deal with these Wofford graduates, looking back at Ron's picture on Tuesday, didn't anybody in SC have regular, non-tinted glasses?
Anyway, these two outstanding golfers posted a +5 point score to win the big bucks today. Hergy, of course, played well and Dr. Larry was lucky.....but the pay is the same none the less.
NJ Don was the medalist at 83, followed by Tommy and Moody at 84. Overall our scoring average was pretty good. We averaged 87.2 as a group which is the second lowest scoring average in 2008. That's a solid "B" in the grade category.

We had 7 of 10 golfers under the 90 mark today.
That's pretty good golf for a bunch of broken down old farts!

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
The team competition ended in a split this morning. The threesome of Moody, Andrews and Hergy played pretty solid golf all day, posting a +3 (Laurel) and a +8 (Azalea) to win the back nine and the eighteen (+11) to win 2/3 rd's of the competition. The foursome of Brent, NJ Don, Jack and Tommy eked out a +3 1/2 on the Laurel to win the front by a !/2, but stumbled on the Azalea to a -1/2 to finish at +3 for the eighteen and a second place finish.
*
The last group of Ron, visiting brother Jim from Hot-lanta and Edisto Don apparently never understood the goals of the game. They never were able to get to the positive numbers and therefore languished in last place. We make fun of them, but we love their money!
*
*****ITEMS*****
Our thanks to the guys in the Golf Shop this AM. We had a little mix up on our course selection on the turn, we went to Azalea rather the Dogwood, and they managed to re-route the intervening golfers and allowed our group to play through. Otherwise, it could have been chaos!
*
This Saturday, we are playing Laurel - Azalea, same as today and we won't screw it up again!
