As usual on nice days, and boy was it nice today, we had a big crowd. Twelve golfers, several not able to tell time and arriving very late, cast their hats into the proverbial ring and had at it!

*****POINTS*****
NASCAR Ernie, having just returned to Aiken from his primary residence in Florence was the overall POINTS Champion today.
*
Using his recently modified SUV/golf cart, Ernie soared to a +7 total this morning narrowly defeating his teamate TV-Louie (+6) and the dimpled-darling duo of Duke and Herg (+5's) to preserve the victory. Our thanks to Jack for riding in the death-seat next to NASCAR and surviving 18 holes.
*
Several HHH & S members (asking not to be named for fear of reprisal or being forced to ride with ERA) were quoted as saying that if NASCAR keeps up with this type of "sandbagging" golf (how else can you justify a +7), that we were going to invite Nita to replace Ernie.
*
On the other hand, I suppose we should congradulate Ernie on outsandbagging the World's all-time sandbagger and beating him at his own game.....TV Louie! (+6) Way to go Ernie!
Hergy and Duke are credited for having played well and honorably in posting their +5's
*
The medalist today was "No-nickname" Moody, who posted a very respectable score of 80, four strokes better than runner-up, the Bug-eater from Nebraska.

*****
The scoring average for the round today was: 89.33 just a shade below Bogey. That's a pretty good average for us considering that we had 12 golfers and the greens were not exactly putter-friendly today.
*
Nice round salute to "Wanna-be" who posted a not-so-nice 49 on the front and then came storming back to post a 40 on the back. Now that's what I call "hanging in".
*
*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
*
A split decision again today. The foursome of ERA, Don, Louie and Jack won the front (Azalea) with a +4 1/2 (others had -4 1/2 and "0") and winning the eighteen with an overall +10. (others had +2 1/2 and +5) The team of Ron, Hergy, Duke and Walt won the back with a +6 1/2.
*
The final group of Moody, St. George, POY-boy and Wanna-be, finished "out of the money" with scores of "0" and +5.

*****ITEMS*****
*
The destination of the ROAD TRIP for next Thursday has been changed. Originally, we had planned on Ft. Gordon, but after further review NORTH AUGUSTA COUNTRY CLUB has been selected. We have 11:40 - 11:50 - 12:00 tee times. Only other ones available were 8:50 - 9:00 etc, way to early for this group. On Thursday, April 24th, lets plan to meet in the HCC parking lot at 10:30 and leave shortly thereafter. Please try to be there a little earlier.
*
HCC is looking for volunteers to help during the Peach Belt and Joe Wyatt Tournaments. It's about a 4 hour committment and would really help out Micah and the guys (and gals). Dates and times are listed in the Clubhouse, please sign up in the Pro Shop if you are interested.
