Ten golfers this morning as we set out to tame the Laurel and Azalea courses. That turned out to be a 50/50 deal. We beat up on the Azalea course with an average round of 43.7, over a stroke below bogey golf and on greens that had been rolled and prepped for the Peach Belt Tournament. On the other hand, the Laurel course cleaned our collective clock, to the tune of a 45.4 average score, that's a two stroke difference.

*****POINTS*****
As you can see, the POY-boy has returned to the top-o-the-heap! Larry posted a very good +7, shooting a nice 87. If you played a round with Larry of late you will note that he is hitting the heck out of those new hybrid irons...who says you can't buy a golf game. Larry was able to hold off the pair of "alleged" sandbaggers of NASCAR Ernie (+6) and TV-Louie (+5, I think) to win his first contest in a while. NOTICE: I said "alleged"sandbaggers.*
FYI - If you want your picture in the blog (and who doesn't), you must win the day's contest, it is not based on who wins the most money. It is possible to win the money and not win the day's contest, especially if there are side bets involved (trash, low total, etc.) Also, anyone who shoots +5 or so for three or four consecutive outings will be labeled an "alleged sandbagger", until his handicap catches up to his play, these are just the rules. If you don't like it.....sandbag your score! Duh!

*****NINES*****
We had a bunch of really good rounds today, to be more correct, a lot of "inconsistent" rounds 40-47, 40-46, 40-45, etc) Here's the summary:
-40-
Hergy, Ernie, Brent
-41-
Larry, Moody(2)
-42-
Louie
-43-
Tommy
-44-
Tommy
-45-
Marshall, Ernie

*******TEAM COMPETITION******
A split decision this morning. The team of Moody, Louie and Tommy posted a +1 1/2 on the Laurel to win that nine (front) and then played well enough on the Azalea (+5 1/2) to combine the two rounds for an 18 hole victory for a +7. Winning the back with a total of +7 1/2 (Azalea) was the team of ERA, Duke and Brent.
*
The team of Jack, Marshall, Larry and Hergy followed all the rules, were polite to each other, didn't swear (even Hergy), but finished out of the money, but we did have the TOP GOLFER of the day, which is why his picture is posted!

*****ITEMS*****
Please note the Saturday schedule: Since the HCC is closed for the Joe Wyatt Memorial Golf Tournament, I was asked to make "alternative" tee times at Aiken Golf Club. I'll try to get a count on Thursday - we have two tee times.
