Beautiful spring-like weather was in the offing today for the nine golfers (8 regulars and a guest) set about the job of beating old man "PAR", and again, for the 332nd week "PAR" won. So we decided to tackle the next best thing which would be "BOGEY", at which we are more adept! At least some of the group is.
******POINTS*****

Well, well, well, it appears that the sandbaggers have run their course, at least for this week. In there place we get the old "Wofford Terrier" himself.....Teacher-boy. With the postings of the May 1 PGA Handicaps, several of our group who shall remain nameless (TV-Louie, POY-boy and NASCAR), finally had to shape up and pull points that actually approximates their true golfing abilities (I use that "abilities" term loosely to describe their game).
*

Walt dazzled the pack with a true display of golfing skill (at least it looked like that on the scorecard) that transformed itself into a +6 and a rare, but well deserved victory. The Nebraska "bugeater" was close behind at +5, in fact Hergy won the Medalist title for the day with a nice 84.

Today's scoring average: 88.7 That's over a stroke UNDER Bogey.

Pretty decent scores considering we played the Azalea course (front) and had to unexpectedly move to the Laurel course (back) in order to finish before dark.

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****

The team competition was pretty close this morning with a SPLIT decision and a tie for highlights. The threesome of Moody, Hergy and Louie were able to win 2/3rd's of the pot this morning. Posting a +7 1/2 on the front and slipping (losing) the back with a -1 1/2 to secure a 18 hole victory (+6) overall.
*
The threesome of Ron, Tommy and guest Hank Kight tied the threesome of Larry, Don and Walt for the back nine victory, both shooting a decent +3. They posted a -4 and a +2, respectively on the front leading to both of them falling off the pace for the eighteen, finishing at -1 and +5 respectively.

*****ITEMS*****

Give some thought about where you want to go next Thursday since some Women's Tourney willing be tying up HCC. We could stay local......Aiken Golf club, Cedar Creek, etc. or drive a little further up the road... Jones Creek, Bartram Trail, River Course, Augusta National (just wanted to see if you were paying attention). We'll decide for sure on Tuesday but I will post the leading suspects that are mentioned at Saturday golf.
