Great day to play golf, too bad the course wasn't up to "PAR", in particular, the greens. Rough, sandy, bumpy and slow.....other than that they were just fine! 10 golfers this morning, a little chilly with a slight wind to start, but it warmed up later to be a fantastic day for golf.

*****POINTS*****
Finally, for only the second time this year, our little "Georgia Peach" won the POINTS competition, and it wasn't easy. Bob posted a +6 (40-39=79) to barely nudge into the victory column over the charging Dukester and POY-boy. They both posted +5's. The Pink Panther (Mr. Cain) was third with a +3.Bob also posted the medalist score with his 79, followed in second by Duke at 85 and Hergy at 86.

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
We had an interesting selection of teams this morning. for the first time in almost three years, the preferred starting method (pulling golf balls from Duke's hat) dialed up 3 of the top 4 handicap players for the same group. Even at that, the team of Brent, Moody, Don and Duke, having to pull a 2008 high of 83, did just that. In fact, in winning the back, they pulled an amazing 51 points on the Dogwood course.

On their way to these big numbers, they managed to win 2/3rd's of the cookies in the jar. Posting a less than stellar -4 1/2 on the front, they roared back to post a +9 1/2 on the back, to win that nine and posting an 18 hole score of +5, barely eking out a victory over the team of Tommy, Larry and Hergy.
*
The threesome managed to pull a +1/2 on the Azalea course to win the front, but couldn't match the "star power" of the foursome on the back and fell short posting a paltry+3 1/2 back for an 18 hole total of +4, one short of a tie.
*
The last group of Marshall, Jack and Dan struggled with their putting and didn't manage to get to the positive side of the ledger posting a -1 on the front and -3 on the back for a -4 for the day, finishing a strong third.

*****ITEMS*****
Thanks to Don and Brent for volunteering to keep the scores and records for me while I'm gone.

Best of luck to NASCAR with that broken finger. Everyone was disappointed to hear that you broke your finger. several of the guys were planning on buying a new clubs with their winnings, but now they have to wait until you return, unless you just want to send your money ahead of time!!

Bon Voyage!
