We had a group of nine for golf today and baby, we shot the lights out! No one posted a score of 90 0r more, in fact the highest scores were 88's. Our scoring average was a stupendous 85!
*
That's a full five strokes under bogey! I can't remember any time in the past three years that we've had this kind of scoring day, even the sandbaggers were surprised! (You know who you are!).

*****POINTS*****
We had a three way tie for the POINTS championship today. It took a +6 to jump into that category and Tommy, Don and TV-Louie all made the leap. Trailing close behind at +5 was Duke and POY-boy was also close at +4. I'm so impressed I decided NOT to harass the winners. Tommy dazzled the assembled crowd with an 80 (41-39) for medalist honors, with Paint-boy the next closest at 83.

*****EIGHTEENS*****
Since all 18 rounds were under bogey, I decided to post just the 18 hole scores (Nine posts rather than 18 Duh!)
-80-
Tommy
-83-
Don
-84-
Brent, Moody
-85-
Louie
-86-
Duke
-87-
Ron
-88-
Larry, Hergy

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
*
The team competition ended in a 1/3 - 2/3rd's split. The threesome of Don, Tommy and Hergy won back (Azalea) with a +9 and won the 18 with an overall score of +13. They posted a +4 on the front.
*
Stopping the sweep by posting a +4 1/2 on the Dogwood course was the threesome of Moody, Louie and Duke. They almost won the eighteen but fell short posting a +12 and falling a little short by posting a 7 1/2 on the back.
*
Falling in the middle and shooting well enough to win nothing but our admiration was the threesome of Larry, Brent and Ron. They posted a -1 1/2 on the front, a +5 1/2 on the back for an 18 hole total of +4. A decent score but not on this golf day!

*****ITEMS****
As you know I will be gone for 30 days starting May 14th so there will be no blog. Some of you may actually be glad! :-) Hopefully between a couple of the guys we can keep a record the scores so I can continue to track the winners/losers/players. I think it will be fun to see the numbers at the end of the year!
*
Anyway, I am going to see if I can arrange with the Pro shop to have the same tee time for the next month or so (at least the Tuesday/Thursday group)! I'll check with you guys tomorrow and Saturday to see what time would be the best!
