Pretty decent day today, perhaps a little warm, but the breeze made it bearable. We had 11 golfers out this morning for "DRESS UP" day. Unfortunately, 10 of us never got the memo, so Larry was the only person eligible to win the POINTS contest today. Next time though Larry, please make sure you send out the memo to everyone, not just yourself! Duh!
*
*****POINTS*****
Since Dress Up day was a complete bust, the disappointment was so rampant that no one played very well except the person who got the notification. *
Larry (a.k.a. Fish-boy) won the competition with a so-so +4. In fact, Larry was the only golfer with a positive point total, everyone else was either at "0" or worse.
*
Way to take advantage of our fragile psyches. Not only did he win the POINTS competition, but he won the Medalist honors as well, shooting a 86 to beat "Wanna-be" by one stroke. Brent and Larry were the only golfers under 90! Everyone else stunk up the joint today! In fact, it smelled a lot like fish......mmmmm!
*
*****NINES*****
Only 10 of the 22 rounds qualified for inclusion in this category.
-40- Brent -41- Larry -43- Ernie
-44- Hergy, Duke, Don-45- Walt, Tommy (2), Larry

*****TEAM COMPETITION****
*
The team competition ended in a tie this morning. It was almost a case of no one really wanting to win. The team of Larry, Don, Ron and Jack won the front (Azalea) by shooting a -1, beating the other two groups by -8 and -9 1/2. They were also able to post a decent enough score on the back to win the 18 as well (-5 to -7 and -7).
*
The team of Ernie, Tommy and Brent won the back (Dogwood) by posting a + 1 1/2 to edge out the team of Hergy, Marshall, Walter and Duke by 1/2 a point. The other team finished at -4.
*
Overall, a very mediocre day of golf.

*****ITEMS*****
Notice the change in time and courses for Thursday. we moved to get away from the Pesch Group, which is large and slow. I thought the Laurel was playing okay in light of all the recent rain. It's almost always open and we can play our normal speed. Let me know if you have any objections to playing over there, otherwise we can play it a little more regularly (if it stays playable that is)
