**************
Do we have this Golf/Weather thing figured out or what? Seems it just won't rain during any of our scheduled events, but after and at night seem to be okay. Hope we can keep dodging those wet bullets, so to speak. BTW, have you ever heard louder thunder?
*
Ten participants out this morning. Glad to see a couple of our recently "not so frequent" golfers contribute to the fun and frivolity. Welcome back Brent, Jack and Ernie. You and your money has been missed.

*****POINTS*****
After a rather long absence from the winner's circle, Duke (Stump-rider or more correctly Stump-driver) rose to the top of the slag heap today. Shooting a very decent+5, Duke won out over the Paint-boy (+4) and the "Bug-eater" (+3) to cruise to victory in today's hotly contested event.
*
Paint-boy was the big stud medalist today, shooting a 83 (38-45) , followed closely by Duke and Bob M. at 84.

*****NINES*****
-38- Don -39- Bob -40- Duke -42- Hergy, Tommy
-43- Hergy, Brent -44- Ron , Duke -45- Tommy, Bob M., Jack, Don

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
We seem to have a strange scoring pattern evolving during our summer events. It appears that individuals and teams alike cannot seem to put to consecutive good or bad rounds together. As shown today our golf games are beginning to resemble Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
*
In today's action, the team to Hergy, Tommy and Bob were able to "steal" the front nine with a winning, but gruesome -4, only to come back and shoot a respectable +4 to finish the overall 18 holes at a "0".
*
Winning the back nine with a brilliant +7 1/2 was the team of Jack, Ernie and Don. Unfortunately, they were -8 1/2 on the front bringing their 18 hole total to only a -1 and just short of tying the winning score.
*
In a apparent meltdown, the third team comprised of of Brent, Larry, Ron and Duke finished the front in - 13 1/2, but rebounded to shoot a decent + 1/2 on the back (I guess if you're -13 1/2 on the front, to get to +1/2 is a little more than a "rebound") to finish the 18 at an ugly -13. What is even more amazing is that this team had the POINTS winner on it!

*****ITEMS*****
We're scheduled to play Laurel/Azalea on Saturday but if they don't get two more teams to play in the McGladry Cup tourney (they need 7 teams, they have 5) we may be able to reshuffle our choice of 9's. I guess the worst case is we play Laurel, which should be improved with all of the rain.
