Have we been lucky concerning the weather or what? We had another very nice (overcast) day for golf today. Seven golfers arrived bright-eyed and bushy-tailed anxious to take on the course and the competition. That's always the way it is until we play and then we remember.....we suck! But at least it's golf or something like it!
:
Since the winner of today's points competition is a "Wofford boy", I decided to correct a mistake that we made last week concerning their little puppy mascot. I must have some how mistakenly posted a picture of an aggressive, nasty looking animal that, according to several of their local alumni, just didn't represent the "true" Wofford spirit. Now that "Puppy" is back in school, I asked him send me a more current picture, shown above. Now that is settled, let's move on.As alluded to above, the "Naked Gun" was the Points winner today with a +5 total that put him ahead of the number two - "Bugeater" at +3. Ron was complaining that he hadn't won in a long, long time.........wrong! Ron, you won ten days ago (only 4 outings ago ) so this playing little "poor boy" won't work with us!
:
Medalist honors were a tie between Ron and Bob at 84, Hergy and Don were close behind at 85.

*****NINES*****
Pretty decent scores today, nothing outstanding but well within our "normal" range (Bogey golf)
::
-40- Bob -41- Hergy -42- Ron(2), Don
-43- Don -44- Hergy, Ernie, Bob -45- Duke, Ernie, Larry

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
~
The team competition was a clean sweep today for the team of Ron, Hergy and Duke. Posting a +5 1/2 on the front (Azalea) and a + 1 1/2 on the back (Dogwood) they posted a winning 18 of +7.
:
Their competitors, (Ernie, Bob, Larry and Don) playing well but lacking the killer instinct, posted a + 2 1/2 on the front and a -3 1/2 on the back to limp home with a 18 hole total of -1.
:
We were welcoming however of their contributions to our financial coffers
