If you hadn't noticed, we are going to be at 10:00 every golf day for the rest of the month!
We had a pretty nice day today for golf. overcast but not to bad! It was quite wet and that, coupled with the long, wet rough had an obvious impact on the scores....for some of us! We had 9 1/2 golfers this morning - TV Rev joined us for only nine before he had to go terrorize the English speaking world!
*
*****POINTS*****

Yes fans, the little troll from Keebler, SC, got out of his tree and visited us today in order show us how the game of golf is played and to win the Points competition. Teflon Bob scored a +7 for the Points and a 77 to win the medalist honors as well. When you score that many points with Bob's handicap (13) you know you've shot great golf.
*
Surprisingly though, he only won by one point over his teammate, the Clemson "Wannabe" who scored a +6 and shot 81. Unfortunately, for the rest of us mortals, they were on the same team, as well as IRS Jack. Care to guess how the team competition came out? More on that later!
*
*****SCORES*****
I just realized why I show 9 hole scores vs. 18. Today for example, on an 18 hole basis we had only 3 scores below the bogey level. By comparison, we have 8 to report on if we use the 9 hole version. My goal is to get as many of you named in the blog as I can, so we use the 9 hole totals.
They are:
-38- Bob
-39- Bob, Brent
-40-
-41-
-42- Brent
-43- Duke (2)
-44-
-45- Ernie, Ron
Now, that sucks! Of the eight scores six of them were with only three people. So I guess we'll chalk today up to BAD GOLF DAY !

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
*
I mentioned above, all of the good scores resided in one threesome. The group of Bob, Brent and Jack easily won the team competition this morning. They had a +3.5 on the Azalea and a +6.5 on the Dogwood to finish with a +10 for the 18.
*
The second place group of Walt, Ron and Duke shot a -3.5 on the front and a +2.5 on the back to finish the 18 with a -1.
*
The last group, was apparently comprised of the three stooges - Moe, Shepp and Larry (a.k.a. Hergy, Ernie and Larry) shot a dazzling -4.5 on Azalea and -8.5 on Dogwood to limp home with a score of -13 for the 18 - only 23 behind the first group. Ernie was the "bright" spot in this group finishing at -1. As bad as that was, it is still 9 strokes better the the 2008 record of 32. I think that is what is called rationalization.
