We had nine golfers on Election day. Not a bad turnout considering the overcast day and threatening skies. "All's well that ends well as they say". We finished the day with just a little drizzle to help settle the greens.
*
Take note of the change of venue for Thursday, the reservation will be under my name, although it was made for us through the Pro-shop this afternoon.

*****POINTS*****
*
The Paint-boy was has really been on a roll over the last couple of weeks. After taking advantage of every one's generous nature at the Edisto Beach outing, Don has continued his silly little game by beating up on everyone again today.
*
Posting a very solid +9, Don beat his closest competitor by 5 points, that being the 1099 man himself, Jack Flash. Shooting a very nice 81, he also tied the perennial medalist of the group and resident Keibler elf, Mr. Moody.

Tommy, returning to his pre-Greece form, shot a very commendable 83 to close out the scores in the 80's.
*
*****SCORES*****
AFTER FURTHER REVIEW: A little weak on the scoring side of things today. Out of 18 rounds, we only had bogey or below on 10 of them. I think the wind and overcast maybe affected us a little more than I first figured.
*
-39- Don, Bob
-40- Tommy
-41-
-42- Don, Bob
-43- Tommy
-44- Duke
-45- Hergy, Jack, Ron

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
*
With his teammates riding his coattails, the Paintboy led his team of Hergy and Jack to a convincing sweep of the team competition this morning. Posting a +8.5 on the Dogwood and a +3.5 on the Azalea, the +12 for 18 was too much for the other groups.
*
The team of Ron, Bob and Duke managed to capture the "mythical" second-place by posting a +2, and "0" on their nines for an 18 hole total of +2
*
Struggling to stay competitive, but finishing third (last) the team of Larry, Walt and Tommy finished at a -1.5 for the 18. They played well on the front (+1), but fell off the pace on the back to the tune of -2.5.
*
*****ITEMS*****
*
Met the new Golf Pro today: Austin Bell joins the Houndslake Country Club today. Originally from Southern California, by way of Asheville, NC and Sage Valley CC. Stop by and say Hi.
*
Football Pool info: I will NOT be Midland Valley on Thursday (Charleston instead), so give your picks to Don or e-mail them to me before hand. We have a pick on the Thursday night game, so they must be in before then or its an incorrect pick!
