Are things getting crazy out there or what? Today, we played in near 80° degree weather and they had 6" of snow on the Strip in Las Vegas and over 9" at elevation where we lived. That's the last time they had 9" of anything up there since I moved....if you catch my drift!!!!!!
Every day in the South gets better and better!
***
We had 10 golfers out this morning, with only one dressed appropriately (Paint-boy), in shorts and short-sleeved shirt. The others of us looked like we were ready for the Iditarod Sled race by comparison. Unfortunately, the nice weather didn't dramatically aid our ailing golf games!
*
*****POINT CHAMPIONSHIP*****
We had a three-way tie for the Championship this morning. As I was remined by one of the winners, that all three of the "suspects" were graduates of a little school in Spartenburg, SC, Wofford University, home of the fierce little Terrier puppy with no name. *
So I decided to post their school photo's to aid in preserving this milestone of their victory today. Ernie, Walter and Ron all shot a very respectable +4 to split the pool, (as an aside, the fourth member of the Wofford group, no names please, but his initials are P.O.Y., posted a -4 today........obviously, he didn't get the message from the others).
*
We had one person at +3 (Tommy) that posed the only threat. The medalist honors for the day were also a tie between Ron and Tommy with matching 86's. Ernie was third in this grouping with an 89 to round out the sub-90 scoring group for the day.
*
*****HONOR ROLL*****
We had an interesting phenomena in our scoring summary. All of the low scores posted below, with the exception of one (Hergy's 45), came from the same foursome. One threesome had none and the other group had the one score referenced above verses 6 from the other group. Crazy!
-40-
-41- Ron
-42- Don, Tommy
-43- Ernie
-44- Tommy
-45- Hergy, Ron

*****TEAM COMPETITION*****
Surprisingly, with the disparity in the scoring, the team of Larry, Hergy and Walt were able to stave off a sweep of the team competition by rallying to post a "0" to tie ($5.00)the back (Azalea). They posted another "0" on the front to end up the day at, what else "0".
*
The winning team of Don, Tommy, Ron and Ernie posted a +11 on the Dogwood to sweep that nine, fell apart on the back and stumbled across the finish line at "0" to finish the 18 at +11. Should have saved one of those extra points on the front and moved it to the back for a sweep! Got greedy didn't you! Still you managed to pocket $25.00 between the four of you and if I remember last one to the bank has the last laugh! HA! HA!
*
The last group of the day Louie, Jack and Marshall finished the Dogwood in -3 1/2, the Azalea in -1 1/2 to finish the day at -5. Marshall had the disadvantage of being paired with Jack and Louie. These two turkeys played well enough on Tuesday to win all the money in the Points Championship, but opted against allowing Marshall in on their scheme. That's not very sporting of you!

*****ITEMS*****

We have two more outings before we take a break - Saturday and Tuesday!
See you then!
