******GENERAL INFORMATION*******

We had a great day for golf this morning. The humidity was w-a-y down and the temp was in the 80's, unfortunately we only had 4 this morning....the minimum number to qualify for POY points.

All in all, it was a quiet Saturday. Larry pulverized his drives today, actually on the Par 5 (Laurel #5), he sent his drive rocketing 180 yards. A marked improvement over the "typical 143" we've become accustomed to. Way to go "Mister 143"!

Oh, there was one event worthy of inclusion that should be reported in this blog.......Don "jumped" into the lake on #5 Dogwood. There are several conflicting stories from the witnesses but it appears that Don had a lie very near the water (18" to 2 feet) after his second shot.

He thought he had enough space to swing after taking his stance and proceeded to attempt his third shot. He swung, took a divot, lost his balance and he began to teeter backwards. Rather than falling into the water on his back, Don managed to get turned around and "jumped" into the water. So there is Don, standing mid-thigh deep in water, looking rather surprised and a bit embarrassed. The good news, according to Don, is that the water is just above knee height and the bottom of the lake is "firm".

Of course, because of the professional approach of our golf relationships, we were more concerned for the welfare of Don rather than falling on the ground rolling in laughter or teasing him about his misfortune. Yes Sir, true professionals to the very end! NOT!
*
Everything settled in back to normal, although Hergy thought that Don smelled a little "fishy" for the rest of the day and you could hear Don walking 20' away because of the squish (not swish) of the water in his shoes. Larry has suggested that we change Don's nickname from "Paint-boy" to "Wet-paint". Oh yes, Don got a double on the hole!
