INSTEAD OF VS. IN ADDITION TO

***** TEE TIME INFORMATION *****

Not sure where we are with times right now, Everything is driven by the weather (real or not) and the course conditions.  Keep checking the blog/e-mail and I'll keep updating as to what we are going to do for next couple of dates.

I showed up for our tee times this morning - Tuesday - and like the Maytag repairman - was the  only soul that showed!  I was lonely!  I didn't realize that yesterday was "INSTEAD OF" rather than "IN ADDITION TO" our playing schedule.  I assumed that since it wasn't raining that we'd retain our tee times and play our normal schedule. 

As of now, unless it is raining, we are scheduled for our regular time on Thursday - February 11th.  (11:12 - 11:20 am)  As of now, nothing further is scheduled. 

We need to be careful to protect our standing with the Pro shop as far as filling the tee times we have rather than not showing up as scheduled. We can't beat on them to give us better tee times and then have no one show up - if you know what I mean!

***** GENERAL INFORMATION *****

There were 6 1/2 golfers present for Monday's session.  The "Rev" was only present for 9 as he had more pressing engagements.   The weather looked great but was surely better than its been.

My ace reporter has informed me that although the weather was nice, the course is still very wet and the pin placements were, to quote him, "ugly".  I still can't believe that they are as bad as the Aiken Golf Club was last week. (I am still having nightmares over that round!)

***** INDIVIDUAL HONORS *****

Looks like David (aka The Smurf) finally has fallen back to earth.  For the first time in 2010, someone else has stepped up and defeated the little termite.  In fact , three somebodies, Larry, Don and Brent  all managed to shoot a servicable +2 to win the individual honors.  Although, how great can it be when half of the guys playing tie for the lead!

Second place - goes to Jack who produced an even "0" round.

These results are really "unique".  Wow, only three scores below bogey! (3/12 = 25%).  I don't recall any session with those kind of results! Having said that, surprisingly, only 1 of the 6 golfers had a negative day, everyone else was either even or plus.  I guess I don't know what that says except that we have "low expectations" , we're bad golfers, or both.  :-)  (I guess we knew that though!)

This had to be like the proverbial "winning the ugly" contest.   A clean sweep for Team One - in fact, it wasn't even close.

***** NEWS *****

I'll let you know what is happening as far as tee times .   Lets hope for better weather in the near future!  It's time for the South to return to being the South....home of soft gentle WARM breezes, etc.! Key word being WARM!
