***** TEE TIME INFORMATION *****
***** GENERAL INFORMATION *****
Our golf season appears to be heading back to normalcy. We have actually now played four consecutive outings in a row withour rain or swamp delays! Yeah!! May it continue!
We have had 11 golfers out this morning - including a number of players in shorts for the first time. As you will note below, we had a number of records for 2010 set today.
The greens, particularly on the Dogwood are making for some very exciting (not) golf, as in Minature Golf that is! It resembles a Putt-Putt course on some holes! Some of the greens are so fast that they make Jacks golf game look like "s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n", if you know what I mean!
We finally got Marshall out to the course for 9 holes this morning, but he had to retire a little early with a "tender" back. Other than the fast greens, everything is moving along quite swimmingly - as they say in jolly Ol' England - at least I think they say that in England!
The scores, although not as good as mid-summer are improving everytime we have an outing. They are still in the 90's, with a sprinkling of 80's, considerably better two weeks ago.
***** INDIVIDUAL HONORS *****
We had a number (5) of very good rounds, best of the year in fact, but alas, you can only have one winner! WALTER blitzed the competition with an amazing +10 for the day!
That is a TIE for BEST POINT ROUND of 2010 (David), but falls short of last years total (+12 David and Hergy) and the all time record of +13 (Jack) set in 2008. But hey, were cuttin' hairs here! A +10 is worth a "WOW" anytime you have one. Congrats Walter - this is Walt's first sub 90 round since July of last year!
Second place and shooting a great round of +8 and still losing was "Little Bob". Other significant rounds, and usually good enough to win, were Don with a +6 and Larry and David with +4's. Those are some really great results - the scores aren't real low, but the points are awesome!
The medalist for Today was BOB at 81 (2010 Best). Of course, this is a case of better golfing though "chemistry"! (Cortisone shot). If things continue like this are we going to have to institute a drug testing program! Not sure any of us could pass one though.
***** HONOR ROLL*****

***** TEAM COMPETITION *****
For the third consecutive outing, we had a sweep in the team contest. The team of BOB, JACK, WALT and RON smoked the rest of the troops with a fantastic +20 (+9 1/2, +10 1/2), that's a 2010 Best!
I know your thinking that is probably the best all-time, well you'd be wrong golfball breath! That honor goes back to 2009 (+23) and the group of Walt, Bob, Larry and Louie.
Second place today went to Larry, David and Ernier with a really great score of +11 (+8, +3).
Third place went to Hergy, Louie and Don at +2 (+1 1/2, +1/2) .
Since it was a Thursday, there was NO LAST PLACE Today!
