*****TEE TIMES*****
10:00 - 10:08 - 10:16 am Tuesday - Thursday
SATURDAY - JUNE 26th: 10:48-10:56 am
Don't let the heat get you down. Come out and play 9 holes if you want. We are willing to adjust the scoring/games to allow for 9-holers.
Better safe than sorry with this heat thing!
Note it! Live it, Breathe it, Write it down! Subject it to memory! Be the Ball!
***** GENERAL INFORMATION *****
It's kind of hard to do the blog in the "normal" fashion since we have some guys playing only 9 and no real sense of form to the competition. Unfortunately, its almost become a survival factor with the intense heat that has decided to visit our fair city. So I am going to do a little combining of the week and hit the highlights - or what passes for highlights within our little group.
We started with 7 on Tuesday and with 7 also on Thursday, lost a couple both days via the 9-hole route. The golf course is in great shape. Putting has become a real problem (for some) and the rough is starting to impact the iron shots as it begins to snarl our normally smooth swings.
We had the best round of the year on Tuesday with Mr. Moody posting a 76 for the 18, including a round of 36 on the Dogwood course to finish it up. Both of those scores are the low for 2010.
***** INDIVIDUAL HONORS *****
On Thursday, it was BANKER-BOY TOMMY rising to the occasion with a +7 as well, followed closely by Bob and Hergy posting +5's.
Incidentally, I am going to record all nine hole scores and when you have 2 such postings I will post in the data system as an 18 hole score. Otherwise you fall behind on the true number of rounds you have shot.
The medalist honors on Tuesday were BOB with his 76 and on Thursday is was TOMMY with an 84. Honorable mention goes to Don with an 81 on Tuesday and BOB (again) with an 85 on Thursday.

****TEAM COMPETITION*****
On Tuesday the team of RON, BOB and TOMMY won 2/3rd's of the battle. They tied the front at +1/2 and apparently woke up on the back, shooting a +15 1/2 to capture the 18.
The sweat-stained group following in their wake was David, Don and Hergy managing to tie the front at 1/2 but only shooting a +5 1/2 to finish second in the overall.
Thursday was a little disjointed as we had to rearrange the back nine to make up for two 9 holers. Winning the front was HERGY, TOMMY, LOUIE and RON over the threesome of Don, Bob and David. Since we lost two (Ron, Louie) on the turn, we decided to play straight points on the back and TOMMY prevailed with a +5 to win that particular bet, along with is +7 for the 18.
